Huge congratulations to Pierce Considine on once again taking out the annual Friday Afternoon Chicken Challenge at Box & Co!
For those not in the know, the Friday chicken challenge is a proud Box & Co tradition that dates back many years — to a time when a frozen chicken was considered a real luxury. Each week, the team rolls the dice in a friendly (but fiercely competitive!) game to win a chook. The staff member who racks up the most wins across the year claims the ultimate bragging rights and the coveted annual trophy.
Pierce last took home the title in 2021, and last year he did it again — making this his fourth overall win. Consistency, skill, and perhaps a little bit of lucky dice magic!

After proudly taking out the Box & Co Annual Golf Trophy in 2024, it was time for Byron Campbell to hand over the trophy — and the iconic orange jacket — to our 2025 newest champion, Ben O’Regan.
The annual golf tournament is always a highlight on the Box & Co calendar. It’s a day of competitive spirit, questionable swings, great laughs, and (for one lucky player) ultimate bragging rights for the year ahead.
Congratulations to Ben on an outstanding performance in his debut year — no easy feat! And hats off to Byron for being a gracious handover champion… we’re sure the competitive fire is already building for a comeback.

Big splashes are coming! 🏊‍♂️ Beenleigh Aquatic Centre is nearing completion.

Big progress at the Beenleigh Aquatic Centre! 🏊🏊‍♀️

We’re excited to share that just under 70,000 tiles have now been laid as part of the construction of the brand‑new Beenleigh pool.

A huge thank you to Box & Co and City Venues Management, our incredible contractors on site, for their hard work and dedication.

I was thrilled to be invited for a behind‑the‑scenes look at the build, and it’s amazing to see this project coming to life.

Stay tuned — the official opening date will be announced soon. The finish line is in sight, and we can’t wait to welcome the community back into the water.

🏗️ Milestone for Central Burnett Fruit Processors | Juice Evaporator Tower Installation.

Box & Co are proud to announce the successful er****on and installation of a new Juice Evaporator Tower — the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

This achievement represents a major advancement in processing capability for our client, CB Juice, and showcases the precision planning, engineering excellence, and collaboration required to deliver such a complex installation.

Standing as a new landmark within the community, the evaporator tower will allow the production of concentrate juice to increase 2-fold, with the potential to increase further in the future. This piece of equipment also allows the client to produce Aroma & Citrus Oil based Bi-Products.

Congratulations to our project team, engineers, and subcontractor partners who worked tirelessly to achieve this milestone safely and efficiently.

It is Box & Co Builders strong belief that no one should lose their life, or have their life seriously altered by injury or illness, because of their job – that’s why each October Safe Work Australia puts Work Place Health & Safety in the spotlight through our National Safe Work Month campaign for October.

Safety is of highest priority for Box & Co Builders.

This year’s theme, safety: every job, every day, encourages all workplaces – regardless of occupation, industry, location, and size – to prioritise safety every day. Practicing safety: every job, every day means we can reduce the rate of fatalities, serious injuries and illnesses in our workplaces, and ensure that everyone gets home safely from work to their family, friends & loved ones.

Box & Co in partnership with Central Burnet Juice (CB Juice) were engaged to undertake the design & construct for the installation of the first T.A.S.T.E (Thermally Accelerated Short-Time Evaporation) tower in the Southern Hemisphere.

CB Juice were awarded a grant from Queensland Treasury through the BBB (Backing Business in the Bush) fund to generate additional employment in rural Queensland.

Works undertaken to date include a detailed design and through this process Box & Co's Design Manager was required to organise the structural and services design with JBT in Parma, Italy. Process involved communication between the relevant authorities to ensure the end product was delivered to Australia meeting our building codes and compliance.

Upgrade works have also been undertaken to the existing facility including foundation works (120t of Concrete), Electrical infrastructure, hydraulic services and future provisions for a new boiler and boiler house.

Over the coming weeks the installation of the 20m tower with be installed with 100t cranes to the rear of the current building.

The completed project will allow the production of concentrate juice to increase 2-fold ,with the potential to increase further in the future. This piece of equipment also allows the client to produce Aroma & Citrus Oil based Bi-Products.

CB Juice will also capitalise on reduced energy and water consumption form this project.

To date the project has been a successful partnership with CB Juice, JBT/Marel and Queensland Treasury.

We'd like to take a moment to congratulate and recognise Dean Brakell for over a decade of dedication and service with Box & Co. Dean's journey with the company started back in 1989 when he joined GJ Box as an apprentice carpenter. Through hard work and commitment, he completed his apprenticeship and progressed to the role of Leading Hand.

Dean went on to broaden his experience and successfully ran his own building business for 13 years before returning to the Box Family. Since rejoining, Dean has taken on key roles, starting as a Site Manager and working his way to his current position as our HSEQ Manager.

Dean is loyal, hard-working, and highly valued member of the team, and his dedication to safety, quality, and the Box & Co values is truly appreciated.

Congrats Dean on an incredible journey and continued success with us!
