As 2024 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to all our clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and most of all, our employees. This year has been nothing short of amazing, and we are truly grateful for the opportunities we’ve had to work alongside such talented and dedicated professionals. Your trust, collaboration, and support have meant the world to us.
After much consideration, we’ve decided to make a shift in our direction. Starting in 2025, we will be taking a break from new client work to focus on some exciting personal and professional endeavours. This change is the result of evolving circumstances, and while it’s a bit of a shift for us, we are incredibly excited about the future.
We’ll still be around, staying engaged with our industry and the wonderful people we’ve had the pleasure of working with. While we won’t be taking on new client projects, we will always be available for advice, connections, and to cheer on all the amazing work happening within our industry. We have genuinely loved every moment of the work we’ve done over the past 10 years and are deeply appreciative of the relationships we’ve built along the way. We’re excited about this next chapter and the new adventures ahead, but we’ll always cherish the time we spent working together, the amazing projects we have delivered and the positive impact we've made as a team.
Thank you once again for all your incredible support and trust. Here’s to an exciting future, and we look forward to staying in touch!
Warmest regards,
Brett

One of Saltash Homes’ earliest major projects was this complete house raise, build-in, and renovation. It’s truly one of our most remarkable transformations – from a tired, worn-down cottage to the stunning gem it is today. This home, filled with heart, soul, and hard work, is now on the market for another fortunate family to make their own.

We’re absolutely smitten with the kitchen transformation at the Killarney project!
Witnessing our clients vision materialise into their dream kitchen has been truly remarkable. Every single detail was considered to make the heart of the home so special 🥰

The cooler weather is slowly creeping up on us 🫣 and nights spent in the pool feels like a distant memory! Our plunge pool at home has dipped below 20 degrees, which I’ve decided is way too cold for me, now that I’m in the over 30’s club, it’s definitely not worth the aching knees 🤣.
There would be no cold aching knees from the Killarney pool, featured in this 📸 which has a heated pool and spa for all year-round enjoyment! For those, like me, who don’t have a heated pool, enjoy your bath tonight 🛀😂

🚨 Important Announcement 📣

On the 16th of August Duayne and Brett will be joining the mystery box rally through the outback of Australia to raise much needed funds for Cancer Council Australia.

The rally starts in Airlie Beach and from there they will work their way through the outback for 5 days with only the bare essentials.

Duayne and Brett are still on the hunt for their rally car, so if you, or anyone you know has a unique car that you are willing to sell (must be pre-1990) and it’s in somewhat working order 😅 please get in touch!!!

For those of you who don’t have a s**t box for sale, but would like to support Duayne, Brett and Cancer Council Australia, any donations would be much appreciated.

We want to do as much as we can for people out there battling this horrible disease, raising much needed funds for ongoing cancer research. If you can, please donate by following the link below:
https://2024.mysteryboxrally.com.au/level-up

For those who would to sponsor the team which includes making a branded sticker (we make up for the car) and a mention on our socials, please email [email protected] or [email protected] so we can send the sponsorship package details (Sponsorship starts at $500).

We will keep you updated along the journey!

Every so often we get the chance to work on a project that’s unique, a complete one of a kind and the Redlands Timber Frame House is exactly that. This house is a Traditional Timber Framed House. Every piece hand crafted from log form, a combination of Cypress and Douglas fir logs the owner Andrew and carpenter Glen sourced themselves. The entire timber portal frame, plate beams, posts and braces are connected with traditional mortice and tenon joinery locked into place with hardwood timber pins. No mechanical fixings (Metal fixings) at all. This method of Traditional Timber Framing has been around for hundreds of years, used widely throughout Japan, Europe, England, and Scotland for the majority of timber structures. Traditional Timber Framing is nearly a lost art these days due to the scarcity of large timber and how labour intensive these methods are to build. The Cypress, Glen and Andrew hunted down for some time, a chance encounter with a farmer at a service station just north or Dubbo in 2006, resulted in them getting free range of over 1000 acres of untouched Cypress forest. Glen and Andrew were able to hand pick the trees they wanted, fell the trees themselves and transport the logs back to Redland bay road train and b-doubles where they milled and racked them in Andrews shed. Glen sourced the Douglas fir from NZ and imported it in 2007. Work started on the Timber Frames in July 2018, Saltash started the ground works and foundations in June 2019. We built from ground level to floor level, the wrap around decks and the bedroom wing which was a conventional method of construction ready for the Timber Frame install. The Timber Frame was craned into position piece by piece in September 2020. Once in position, the Timber frames were built in conventionally with external cladding, a combination of copper and black standing seam sheet cladding, fitted out internally and now home Andrew and his family. The scale and technicality of this project is absolutely mind blowing. It’s a credit to Andrew, Glen and Wayne for the shear commitment and attention to detail required to build this one of a kind home.

On days like today I wish I could teleport to our client's pool in Wakerley (With maybe a frozen marg or two) 😂! Is it just me or is Brisbane getting more humid every summer!!!
I love this pool we built for our clients last year for many reasons, firstly it's like a little a tiny slice of a tropical island paradise right in their back yard (No need for overseas holidays), secondly, it's always cold mainly because of the depth of the pool and it has plenty of shade, thirdly, the colour of the water just draws you in! It's somewhere you just want to hang out! Also how cool is the BBQ area!
