Happy Friday, as we only work a 4 day week here it is a quiet day on the ground, the crew have dodged rain, wind, and dark frosty mornings, hats off to them and all of society that works in the weather. Not to wish our lives away but it is only 17-18 days to the shortest daylight day.
For those that donβt work in a manual labour job it is difficult to understand how your body feels at the end of the working week, not just the hours worked but the early mornings, dark to dark this time of year.
I appreciate being in the office but I have done my time on the ground so I understand well.
Marcol is again going through some change with another portion of the business popping up.
For those that may not understand we are doing this for the final product, my drive to grow is to streamline what we do and to be able to offer our clients existing and new a product that has a whole team involved in the build.
Carpenters / supervisors that know and understand the next role and can call the plumber who in turn can chat to the joiner who in turn can see a challenge (Gabe) that may need to be overcome to move forward more fluidly.
The roofer can meet with the carpenter to ask how things are needed to look or offer advice on a different scenario.
Change is good, sometimes stressful and a little scary, but I feel Iβm not coming back in a second life as a builder so this is our only chance.
It isnβt about money, of course we make enough but we share it quite well.
It is about passing on what we have learnt to allow the newcomers to carry on quality work and treat you, the clients well, without you we are nothing.
Enjoy the long weekend, have a beer on Charlie.
