❄️ ENGINEERED FOR SNOW LOADING

A few centimetres of snow might not seem like much, but across the surface of a large dome, the weight can quickly add up.

The Snowy Hydro 2.0 Project, located in the Snowy Mountains, is one of Australia’s largest renewable energy infrastructure projects. As part of this project, we supplied a large number of domes engineered to accommodate the snow loading requirements of the alpine and sub-alpine environment.

Snow accumulation places additional loads on a structure, which is why snow loading needs to be considered during the design process. Our domes can be engineered for locations where snow loading is a design requirement, with the relevant provisions of AS 1170.3 incorporated into the engineering.

Dust control is a key consideration for waste and recycling facilities — particularly around busy material handling and loading areas.

For this large-scale recycling facility in Western Sydney, Container Domes Australia has supplied multiple custom dome shelters to cover storage and material handling areas, along with a 21m-wide cantilevered awning with a 7m cantilever over a high-traffic loading area.

The covered areas were designed to help protect stored materials and reduce airborne dust, while allowing vehicles and equipment to continue moving efficiently through the site.

With different mounting methods used across the project and a custom awning integrated into the facility, the solution was designed around the site's specific operational requirements.
