Reagan's Star Wars program operated from 1983 to 1993, coinciding with the end of the USSR and the Eastern European communist bloc. Although he achieved reductions in nuclear weapons stock through negotiations, the program also intensified the arms race in space.

In 2002, Elon Musk founded SpaceX, a company that has pioneered advanced space technology and spearheaded key projects like Tesla's autonomous vehicles, Starlink, and Twitter's transformation. This technological revolution is reshaping industries worldwide. People are eagerly buying SpaceX shares to be part of this significant advancement for humanity.

Today, Trump’s $500bn Stargate venture aims to revolutionize AI infrastructure and reinforce America’s leadership in the AI space. This joint private venture with few significant tech companies raises essential questions about how the public can engage with and support this giant project. Or, is the Stargate like a Hollywood plot, where only a select few know what behind the Stargate?

Humanity has always sought to improve living conditions, from early stone tools to the Industrial Revolution and now through artificial intelligence (AI). SpaceX exemplifies this mission. With public support, it can advance AI, enhance lives, explore extraterrestrial resources, and foster positive relationships with potential alien cultures. Let’s hope Trump's Stargate will be another valuable long-term project that benefits both humanity and the universe.

Women's Day in China 1970
One of my earliest memories of Women’s Day is from primary school when my mother came home with a red flower and a certificate for her building air-raid shelters against the USSR invasion. I was so happy for her receiving the recognition of her hard work, more importantly, the challenges of the work she faced but she overcame, such as trenching the tunnels with shovels and carrying heavy baskets of mud with a shoulder pole, very primitive condition. Even after long and exhausting work, she managed to keep our household running smoothly without complaint. Her nightly routine of mending clothes while I was studying spoke volumes about her love, strength and determination. In my heart, she is forever the most incredible woman.

Women's Day Reflection
This morning, I felt a heavy heart as I watched the devastating scenes in Queensland, where Cyclone Alfred has caused significant destruction to the local community. Our thoughts are with you, Queenslanders. We wish and pray for the safe and swift recovery of everyone affected by the cyclone.

International Women's Day has passed, but I am still immersed in the excitement of the last couple of days. Never in my life have I felt so touched on the day. I was deeply inspired by my experience at the Professional Migrant Women's gathering and Boroondara's Special Function, where I met many extraordinary women. Each woman's story showcased resilience and strength.

From 1922 Lenin declared March 8 as International Women's Day (IWD), today it has evolved into a global celebration of women's rights. It emphasizes the importance of advocating for gender equality, reproductive rights, and ending violence against women. This day reinforces our collective goal for women's empowerment. And in Australia, it has been celebrated everywhere where I've seen many gentlemen attending the celebration too. Thank you Aussie blocks.

Today, women in Australia hold important roles in various fields. Annette Xiberras contributes to preserving Native Australian culture, Sue Ellson writes the impactful poem Comforting People’s Souls, Anh Nauyon Austen researches the journey of Vietnamese immigrants from refugees to successful individuals, and many incredible women I have met at the functions. At the meeting, I shared my story too. After divorcing. I took my first invoice to a friend's home and asked him to teach me how to pay the bill online. I could see the question in their eyes: Really? How could you run your building business?

I nodded. Today, it's rare to find a businesswoman who can't handle online banking. Thirty years ago, when I married my ex-husband, we decided he would manage our finances, so I never learned the basics of online banking which has become common practice since 2000.

However, I've since learned a great deal about independence. I restructured my business and published my book. As a single parent, I become stronger and dependable for my daughters, although I often go to bed in tears. I view tears as a release of pressure, not a weakness. True success lies in our ability to rise after a fall, and resilience is the key to overcoming any challenge.

A Chinese saying goes, "People strive upward, while water flows downward," reflecting our human nature's pursuit of a better life. My parents migrated from Southern China to Shanghai, and later, I moved from Shanghai to Melbourne. I am grateful for the opportunities this country has provided me.

To my sisters, whether you have recently migrated to Australia or your ancestors arrived here long ago, let us come together and support one another in building a bright future. Together, as women, we hold up half of the sky in Australia.

Meaningful Political Debate Needed
Anticipation is high across the country for PM. Albanese's announcement of the election date. Since mid-2024, Australians have been looking for his policies to guide the nation’s future. Recently, we've seen increases in Age Pension and JobSeeker payments, along with plans to build 40 offshore wind turbines each month. Have you seen a bold vision ahead yet?

However, we have also noticed that political debate has largely been absent, shifting the focus to criticism rather than productive discussions about solutions. This has led to growing disillusionment with the Albanese government.

Australia's government system, rooted in the Roman Empire's framework, represents a strong democracy. Unlike in ancient times when enslaved individuals could not vote, every Australian citizen over 18 now has that right. The critical question is whether we have found a leader with the necessary qualities to lead our nation toward a prosperous future.

As the election deadline approaches on May 25, 2025, the need for urgent and meaningful change in our election with great transparency is evident. It is essential for leading politicians—Anthony Albanese, Peter Dutton, Adam Bandt, Clive Palmer, and Pauline Hanson—to engage in a more focused dialogue about the nation’s future

Leadership Style in the AI Era
James Carveille's prediction of Trump's presidency is very gloomy.

Trump's presidential victory shows that many Americans want significant change and expect and hope for his ambitious reform policies.
