We’ve successfully installed one of the new electrical switchrooms, a critical asset that will ultimately power and control key elements of our full-scale HPA First Facility in Gladstone.

This milestone marks a clear transition for the project. With electrical works now mobilised alongside civil, structural, mechanical and piping disciplines, the site is moving into the next phase where permanent systems can be completed and progressively energised.

Over the coming week, we will complete access and finishing works before handing the area over to support the next stage of activity.

A strong milestone for the team and the first of many similar installations as the project continues to take shape. 👏

Alpha HPA is looking for a Maintenance Planner to join the team in Gladstone and support the delivery of the Stage Two HPA First Project as it transitions from construction into operations.

From commissioning to long-term operations, this role will play a key part in keeping one of Australia’s most innovative advanced materials facilities running at its best.

It’s an exciting opportunity to contribute to the operational readiness of a world-first purification process producing ultra-high purity aluminium materials used in semiconductors, lithium-ion batteries, synthetic sapphire and LED lighting.

As construction progresses we’re continuing to build the team that will help shape the future of advanced manufacturing in Queensland.

Alpha HPA Managing Director Rob Williamson and Head of Corporate Development Robert Lord are at the UBS Asian Investment Conference in Hong Kong today as global investor focus on AI infrastructure, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing continues to accelerate.

The rapid growth of AI platforms like Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini is driving enormous investment into next-generation data centres and semiconductor infrastructure across the world.

As AI chips become more powerful, they are also becoming increasingly energy intensive and heat constrained, creating growing focus across the semiconductor ecosystem on:
👉 thermal management
👉 advanced packaging
👉 cooling infrastructure
👉 high-performance materials

We look forward to engaging with investors and broader Asian markets throughout the week as these global technology and infrastructure themes continue evolving.

National Reconciliation Week begins today.

For us, it’s a chance to reflect on how we show respect, build relationships and create opportunities that are genuine and lasting. This year’s theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation belongs to all of us.

At Alpha HPA, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands where we operate including the Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng and Taribelang Bunda Peoples in Gladstone, and the Yugara and Turrbal Peoples in Brisbane and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

AI data centres are hitting thermal limits and the world’s biggest semiconductor and materials companies are responding with next-generation thermal packaging materials.

A new UBS Global Research report highlights the accelerating shift toward high thermal conductivity materials like High Purity Alumina (HPA), driven by the cooling demands of AI infrastructure and high-density data centres. Traditional silica-based materials are increasingly being replaced as chip power densities continue to rise.

The report points to a growing industry pivot toward alumina-based thermal materials, with leading semiconductor and packaging companies now introducing products designed to better manage heat, improve performance and reduce cooling demands in AI chips.

For upstream HPA suppliers that can meet qualification requirements, just like we do at Alpha HPA, this trend is unequivocally positive.

It’s exciting to see the HPA First Facility taking shape so quickly, with major progress so visible across site.

These latest aerials capture the rapid advancement of the solvent extraction module, alongside continued civil, structural and mechanical works across the project footprint.

Every week, more of the facility comes to life as we move closer to becoming one of the world’s largest producers of high purity alumina for next generation technologies used across the world.

A huge credit to the teams on site and behind the scenes driving this progress safely and efficiently.

Semiconductors are getting faster, more powerful and more compact, but managing the heat they generate is becoming one of the industry’s biggest challenges.

At the Thermal Management Expo in North America this week, Alpha HPA’s Executive Director & Chief Commercial Officer Rimas Kairaitis, presented on the increasingly critical role ultra-high purity alumina (HPA) is playing in next-generation semiconductor manufacturing and AI infrastructure.

The session explored how advanced materials are helping support thermal performance across advanced logic, high-bandwidth memory and data centre processors, as well as the importance of secure and resilient supply chains for these essential high-purity inputs.
