Today has been about remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice, but also recognising a lifetime of service that too often passes without much fanfare.

For SMW Group, there’s a story close to home. Senior Sergeant John Trenaman, father of our Director Jack Trenaman, served Queensland communities for more than 27 years and Jacks uncle Senior Sergeant Don Trenaman, serving our local communities for over 35 years.

Thousands of shifts. Missed weekends. Difficult calls. People helped on their worst days. A family at home who shared the sacrifices that came with the uniform.

These stories also means something to us because SMW’s roots are here too. We’re a Central Queensland business. Our families have lived here, worked here and contributed to these communities long before SMW had its name on a workshop, a ute or a worksite.

Police are expected to turn up when something has gone wrong. They walk into situations most of us would walk away from and much of what they deal with will never make a newspaper clipping or be known by the wider community.

They don’t hear thank you nearly enough. So today, from one local CQ family and business to the men and women who have served ours, thank you. To those still serving, stay safe. To those who have retired, thank you for the years you gave.And to those who never made it home, we remember you. 💙

Our condolences go to our fellow industry colleagues and friends at JRT Group and to Allan’s family, friends and teammates during this incredibly difficult time.

The loss of a valued colleague and mate is felt well beyond one workplace, particularly across our close-knit Yeppoon community.

From all of us at SMW Group, our thoughts are with the entire JRT team and everyone who knew and worked alongside Allan.

💔 We are saddened by the loss of our colleague and mate, Allan Frost.

Allan was a valued workmate, a good bloke and someone who will be deeply missed by everyone at JRT. His friendship, good nature and contribution to the team will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Allan’s wife, Sandy, and his children, Lewis and Ruby, along with all of Allan’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
