Brenchie's Lab is an open makerspace set up in Aruba for people to develop and build solutions to problems they see in their community. We've got plenty of equipment available for 3D printing, scanning, and modeling, as well as CNC cutting and milling, woodwork, metalwork, electronics programming, prototyping, e-waste hacking, high-tech games, 360 filming, plastic recycling, and much more. We also

offer professional design, manufacturing, and consulting services, which help us keep the project running. Use of the lab is pay-what-you-can, with a recommended contribution of 5 florin per visit plus costs of materials. If you're willing and able to contribute more, we're happy to pay it forward. In the past we've also had financial and in kind support from Ateliers '89, Setar, Aruba's Best Windows and Doors, Delta Blue Electronics, UNOCA, the Academy of Fine Arts and Design Aruba, Stimuleringsfonds, BankGiro Loterij Fonds, Biblioteca Nacional Aruba, Aruba Futura Foundation, Metabolic, and countless visitors and users of the space. Maker Day starts now!

Today we're trying to revive some old laptops, if you have one bring it by we're open until 6 in the University Of Aruba parking lot. Plus we have a new boom box!

Next week we'll be installing Linux and Chrome OS on some old laptops that need it.

As always, if you want to 3D print, laser cut, cnc, program, build circuits, or make almost anything let us know or pop by Wednesday afternoons.

*Soundtrack for this post should be the Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion but Instagram won't let us, so look it up and play it loud!

Happy Canada Day! And happy Maker Day! We have a limited supply of donuts, with some bonus maple glaze drippings, in case you want to drop by and eat something while you make something. Hackathon! Trying to recharge our solar battery with a couple of power supplies, we put them in series and set the voltage in steps to slowly bring it up closer to 48V so that our inverter will charge it. One is maxed out, the other is set to 2A charging current, which goes down as the battery charges to the set voltage. Thanks to S cubed for the voice note instructions!
