Key Points:

* Bangladesh Govt plans to allocate BDT 15,000 crore ($200 million) for the power and the energy sectors to implement as many as 88 projects in the next Fiscal Year (FY) beginning on July 1, 2016.

* In the last 7 years, electricity generation capacity almost tripled from 4,942 MW in 2009 to 14,539 MW in 2016.

* Govt has set a target to generate 24,000 MW electricity in 2021.
