হেলমেট ব্যবহার করুন:

বাইক চালানোর সময় নিরাপত্তার জন্য তো বটেই, এছাড়া রোদ থেকে বাঁচার জন্যও হেলমেট ব্যবহার করুন। বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রে এগুলোতে কালার চেঞ্জিং গ্লাস ব্যবহার করা হয়ে থাকে, যে কারণে তীব্র রোদে চোখও আরাম পায়। সেইসঙ্গে ফুলহাতা ও সুতির পোশাক পরলে রোদের তাপ থেকেও বাঁচতে পারবেন।

হাইড্রেটেড থাকুন:

মোটরসাইকেল হোক বা সাইকেল, গিয়ারের চাপে গরম অসহ্য হবেই। এজন্য সঙ্গে পানি রাখুন। তীব্র রোদে গাড়ি চালালে ত্বকের ক্ষতি হয়। সেক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার করতে পারেন সানস্ক্রিন। গরমে দীর্ঘসময় বাইরে থাকলে হিট স্ট্রোকের ঝুঁকি বেড়ে যায়। তাই হিট স্ট্রোকের লক্ষণ ও প্রতিকার সম্পর্কে জেনে নিন।

ফুয়েল ট্যাঙ্ক:

গরমের সময়ে বাইকের ফুয়েল ট্যাঙ্ক পুরোপুরি ভরবেন না। কারণ তাপ সৃষ্টি হলে ডিজেল কিংবা পেট্রল দ্রুত ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। তেল লিক করলে তা মারাত্মক দুর্ঘটনার কারণ হতে পারে। তাই গরমের সময়ে ফুয়েল ট্যাঙ্কের অর্ধেক বা চার ভাগের তিন ভাগ তেল নিন।

ইলেকট্রিক পার্টস:

তাপদাহে বাইকের ইলেকট্রিক পার্টস ক্ষতি হতে পারে। কমিউটার মোটরসাইকেল হোক অথবা স্পোর্টস বাইক সব রকম টু হুইলারে থাকে একাধিক ইলেকট্রিক পার্টস। তাই রাইড করার সময় অতিরিক্ত ফিউজ সঙ্গে রাখতে পারেন। ব্যাটারির বিষয়টিও মনে রাখবেন।

টায়ারের ক্ষতি হতে সাবধান:

গরমে টায়ার প্রেশার সাধারণ সময়ের থেকে একটু কম রাখা ভালো। চাকায় যদি বাতাসের বেগ বেশি থাকে তাহলে গরমকালে চাকা ফেটে যেতে পারে। যারা হাই স্পিডে বাইক চালান তাদের চাকা সরাসরি রাস্তার সংস্পর্শে আসলে অত্যধিক হিট তৈরি হয়। তাই সাবধান না থাকলে টায়ারের ক্ষতি হতে পারে।

বাইকের কুল্যান্ট নিয়ে ভাবুন:

গরমের সময় বাইকের কুল্যান্ট ঠিক আছে কী না দেখা জরুরি। এই কুল্যান্ট আসলে কী। কুল্যান্ট এক ধরনের তরল যা বাইকের ইঞ্জিনের মধ্যে তাপের ভারসাম্য বজায় রাখতে সাহায্য করে। সোজা ভাষায় এটি বাইকে কুলিং সিস্টেম হিসেবে কাজ করে। অ্যান্টিফ্রিজ ও পানির মিশ্রণে তৈরি এই তরল গরমে বাইক সুরক্ষিত রাখে। এ কুল্যান্টের অবস্থা পর্যবেক্ষণে রাখুন। কুল্যান্ট খারাপ হলে ইঞ্জিনে সমস্যা দেখা দিতে পারে।

চেইন লুব্রিকেট:

গরমের সময় বাতাসে ধুলাবালি একটু বেশি থাকে। তাই কিছুদিন পর পর বাইকের চেইন পরিষ্কার ও লুব্রিকেট করার পরামর্শ দেন বিশেষজ্ঞরা। এটি করার ফলে বাইক আরও মসৃণভাবে চালানো যায়। লুব্রিকেটিং করার আগে বাইকের সব মোটরপার্টস অবশ্যই পরিষ্কার করে নিতে হবে।
