𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲

The final day concluded a thoughtful three-day journey into the processes of architectural practice. Visitors, architects, students, and well-wishers gathered for one last time to reflect, share perspectives, and celebrate the spirit of dialogue that shaped the event.

Concluding day discourse was conducted by 𝙉𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝘼𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙙 𝙆𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙡, 𝙈𝙖𝙝𝙢𝙪𝙙𝙪𝙡 𝘼𝙣𝙬𝙖𝙧 𝙍𝙞𝙮𝙖𝙖𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙖 𝙏𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙢. The multidisciplinary talk evoked lively and insightful debate among the visitors.

The exhibition ended with inspiring conversations and heartfelt appreciation for everyone who became part of this collective exploration.

Day 2 continued the journey of exploration, reflection, and exchange of ideas. The studio remained open for visitors, architects, engineers, students, and well-wishers to experience the ongoing exhibition, engage in discussions, and connect through shared curiosity about the processes that shape architectural thinking and practice.

The evening consisted 2 sessions of talks by the contemporary architectural practitioners from Bangladesh. The second panel was graced by Jubair Hasan, Saiqa Iqbal Meghna, Rizvi Hassan and Samin Rahman. This panel with highly diverse stream of work philosophy brought a very interesting dialogue on the table.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟬𝟭 𝗼𝗳 '𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴' 𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲

A three-day exploration into the critical processes of architectural practice began on 25 September with an inspiring opening evening. The studio welcomed architects, engineers, students, industry professionals, and well-wishers for an engaging start to its Open Studio, Exhibition and Discourse program.

The evening was graced with the presence of the honourable guests Kazi Golam Nasir, Jalal Ahmed, Mustapha Khalid Palash, Ehsan Khan, Mamnoon Murshed Chowdhury and Patric D Rozario. They addressed the visitors with their heartwarming and inspiring speeches about Cubeinside, the event, architectural practice and the process of learning and unlearning.

We are delighted to share that Cubeinside is participating in the exhibition titled 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮, 16 March – 21 March at IFBE, Ballard Estate, Mumbai. The exhibition is curated by Devashree Shah, Pranav Thole and Rahul Mehrotra.

The exhibition will show the works of 78 emergent architecture practices in South Asia that have engaged in the making of architecture, landscape, and infrastructure in the public realm. It expands on the 18-month-long travelling exhibition of the same title that first showed in December 2023 at the India International Centre, New Delhi with 41 practices that has grown to 78 practices. Later, it travelled to Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, and Kozhikode. Its first international showing opened in Karachi a couple of months ago and is expected to show in Kabul and Dhaka in the first half of 2026.

𝗕𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗨𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝘆𝗮𝗻

Bait Ur Rayyan Mosque reinterprets Islamic symbols through abstraction, guided by the principle of “Abstract Semiotics.” Geometry becomes both symbol and structure—shaping mass, void, and perceptual depth. The design begins with a pure rectangular plan, orchestrating solids and voids where natural light acts as material. A floating dome, poised lightly above the grounded form, contrasts permanence with transcendence. Indirect light washes walls and dome, creating softness and spiritual resonance. Minarets rise with clarity, signaling presence and intent.

The approach unfolds through an introverted, curved entrance—a threshold from worldly exterior to sacred interior. Within, calibrated apertures and slits illuminate the prayer hall, while the Mihrab’s curvature focuses contemplation. Situated in Khaserhat, a site of social transition, the mosque mediates urban change, serving as a place of prayer, learning, and gathering. Abstraction replaces replication, achieving humility through minimalism. The architecture embodies Islam’s essence: quiet dignity, openness, and reflection in both form and conduct.

If we look at Bangladesh in parallel to Europe during the 1968 uprisings, we find Dhaka itself boiling with mass unrest in 1969.

𝗥𝗮𝘄 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝗙𝗣

Raw Nation, a premium clothing brand for men and women, embodies character, endeavor, and achievement—balancing rawness with humility and a love for craft. Its showroom design translates this ethos into space, where rugged textures meet refined restraint. Skim-coated walls provide organic surfaces, avoiding repetitive tiling and offering a textured backdrop for merchandise. Grey-tiled flooring grounds the interior, while black metal frames sharpen the contrast, ensuring products remain central.

At the core lies the Denim Gallery, a circular enclave defined by slender metal bars and glass blocks—transparent yet distinct, symbolizing denim’s resilience and adaptability. A curved ceiling dramatizes the centerpiece, anchoring the spatial experience. Subtle curves in ceilings and lighting soften geometry, tempering rawness with grace. Neutral tones dominate, punctuated by Raw Nation Blue and Pink, injecting vibrancy and identity. Precision lighting enhances ambiance and product visibility, creating a showroom that embodies Raw Nation’s philosophy: raw yet refined, bold yet humble.
