আজ আমরা গভীর শ্রদ্ধা ও কৃতজ্ঞতার সঙ্গে স্মরণ করছি ১৯৫২ সালের ভাষা আন্দোলনের বীর শহীদদের, যারা ঢাকা–এর রাজপথে মাতৃভাষার অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠার জন্য আত্মোৎসর্গ করেছিলেন।

তাদের আত্মত্যাগ কেবল বাংলাদেশের ভাষাগত স্বাধিকার নিশ্চিত করেনি; বরং বিশ্বব্যাপী ভাষাগত বৈচিত্র্য ও সাংস্কৃতিক মর্যাদার গুরুত্বকে নতুন উচ্চতায় পৌঁছে দিয়েছে। এই ঐতিহাসিক অবদানের আন্তর্জাতিক স্বীকৃতিস্বরূপ ইউনেস্কো ২১ ফেব্রুয়ারিকে “আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস” হিসেবে ঘোষণা করে।

On this solemn occasion, we pay tribute to the martyrs of the 1952 Language Movement in Dhaka, who sacrificed their lives to uphold the right to their mother tongue.

Their historic sacrifice not only secured linguistic rights for Bangladesh but also underscored the global importance of cultural and linguistic diversity. In recognition of this legacy, UNESCO proclaimed 21 February as International Mother Language Day.

Language is a fundamental pillar of identity, culture, and values. Respecting language means promoting diversity, inclusion, and mutual understanding.

On this day, we express our deepest respect to all language martyrs.
