n Bangladesh that is formulatingMaster Plans for 223 Paurashava towns and Kuakata Tourism Centre. Much neededplanned development of these towns to be ensured through both endorsing andimplementing of these master plans. Objectives:
a) Prepare Master Plan comprises of Structure plan, Land Use Plan, Drainage plan, Traffic Management plan, and Ward Action plan in order to ensure planned development and to meet the increasing demand of the citizen for basic services. b) Provide necessary infrastructure facilities in upazila Town in order to reduce population pressure in big cities. d) Improve Environment through the provision of infrastructure, sanitation, solid waste management and storm water / rain water drainage. e) Improve institutional capacity of Upazila Towns in order to ensure better services to the citizens. f) Rehabilitate damaged urban Infrastructure of 2007 flood and help to restore normal levels of economic growth and social activities through create direct/indirect employment opportunities for the people of the project area. General information

Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) is one of the largest public sector organizations in Bangladesh entrusted for planning and implementation of local level rural urban and small scale water resources infrastructure development programs. LGED works closely with the local stakeholders to ensure people’s participation and bottom–up planning in all stages of project implementation cycle. The broad objectives of LGED’s development activities are to improve the socio-economic condition of the country through supply of infrastructures at local level and capacity building of the stakeholders. LGED promotes labour-based technology to create employment opportunity at local level and uses local materials in construction and maintenance to optimize the project implementation cost with preserving the desired quality.
