As we wrap up 2025, we’re pleased to be designing an eight-storied residential building in Bashundhara. It’s been a rewarding journey, shared with some truly good people along the way.

Tamanna Nabila Islam

She obtained her M.Sc. in Civil Systems Engineering from TU Berlin, graduated with 95% grades, specializing in applying digital technologies for the assessment and Sustainability of built infrastructure.

Her master’s thesis, “Non-destructive Quality Assessment of Masonry with Image Processing and Machine Learning Algorithm,” focused on using computer vision and AI techniques to automate crack detection in masonry structures.

During her master’s, she contributed to two EU-funded research projects, ASHVIN and Reincarnate, both aligned with digital transformation and circularity in construction. In ASHVIN, she engaged with digital twin development and data-driven monitoring methods for improving construction productivity and safety. In Reincarnate, she explored circular economy concepts and the reuse of building materials through innovative digital tools and lifecycle analysis.

Her research interests lie in digital twin technologies, smart and sustainable construction, and AI-driven structural diagnostics.

Beyond academia, Tamanna is one of the founding members and Chief Engineer of Dhaka Professionals, a multidisciplinary consulting firm fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth among engineers and architects.

She is now beginning her Ph.D. at TU Berlin in Sustainable Urban Infrastructure and Digital Tools for Circular Water and Energy Systems, where her research will focus on integrating smart technologies and circular design principles to create more resilient and resource-efficient urban systems with grey water treatment and heat recovery.

স্থাপত্য তখন শুধু নকশা নয়, হয়ে ওঠে আমাদের স্বপ্ন আর পৃথিবীর মাটির মাঝে এক সেতুবন্ধন।
