He is a client-focused engineer with working knowledge of latest reinforced concrete and structural steel design; practiced in developing personal client relationships based on trust and quality deliverables. Proficient in analysis and design of the building and bridge related seismic-resistant structures using E-TABS, STAAD Pro, SAP 2000, Midas Civil, CSI Bridge, and CSI SAFE. Distinguished for the thorough knowledge and understanding of BNBC 2017, IBC, ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, IRC, AISC, ASTM standards, and specifications and for excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Outside the office, Jaher spends time with his wife and two children and enjoys playing chess and running with friends.

I had the pleasure of delivering the keynote address at a webinar organized by the ASCE BUET Student Chapter on âAesthetics in Bridge Design.â The session focused on how structural efficiency, functionality, and visual elegance can come together to create iconic and context-sensitive bridges.
The webinar was supported by D8 Bridge Research Center and D8 Academy, reflecting our commitment to research, knowledge sharing, and mentorship for the next generation of engineers. It was inspiring to engage with students and young professionals and discuss the role of aesthetics in modern bridge engineering.

Structural Marvel in Steel â Beijing National Stadium (Birdâs Nest)
As a structural engineer, visiting the Beijing National Stadiumâfamously known as the Birdâs Nestâwas both inspiring and intellectually humbling. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron with structural engineering led by Arup, this stadium is an architectural icon and an engineering feat of the 21st century.
đī¸ Structural System Highlights:
âĸ The stadiumâs unique ânest-likeâ lattice shell is formed by a complex interwoven steel truss system that acts as both exoskeleton and support, eliminating the need for internal columns and allowing for unobstructed views.
âĸ It spans 330 meters in length, 220 meters in width, and reaches a height of 69.2 meters, with a seating capacity of 91,000.
âĸ The outer shell and roof structure are entirely independent of the bowl-shaped seating structure inside, showcasing a true dual structural system.
âĸ Over 42,000 tonnes of steel were used, making it one of the largest steel structures in the world.
âĸ The joints between the trusses are meticulously engineered to distribute complex three-dimensional loads including seismic forces, snow, and wind loads.
đ Sustainability & Innovation:
âĸ Despite its scale, the stadium was designed with energy efficiency in mind, incorporating natural ventilation, rainwater collection, and optimized daylight usage.
âĸ Its form and orientation were also influenced by seismic safety, a critical consideration given Beijingâs seismic risk profile.
