IEEE advances technology for humanity by creative collaborative platforms around fields of technical knowledge: via its world-renowned conferences, publications, educational workshops and standards.
On 17th December, 2019, the Department of EEE of UIU collaborated with the Power and Energy Training Academy (PETA) and IEEE UIU Student Branch to successfully organize an informative a talk titled âABB Ability â The Potential of a Digitalized Future for Bangladeshâ. The talk was presented by Mr. Stefan P. Jonsson, currently working as the Country Managing Director of ABB Ltd. Bangladesh. A formal meeting between the distinguished representatives of ABB Limited Bangladesh and faculty members of the EEE Dept was held prior to the event to discuss the possibility of a collaboration between ABB Limited and UIU to further advance the education and career prospects among EEE students of this reputed university.
ABB is a technology leader that is driving the digital transformation of industries. It is a Swedish-based company and is the product of many acquisitions and mergers, but is primarily known from the 1988 coming together of ASEA and BBC, formerly known as Brown Boveri, two of the proudest and best-known names in European electrical engineering history. Adding to that dignified presence, we also have Mr. Mostafa Salman Nur, Senior Engineer, ABB Ltd. Bangladesh.
The informative session was followed by an interactive Q and A session, where many enthusiastic students posed questions regarding ABB, job aspects and various other relevant topics to Mr. Stefan P. Jonsson.
