The first hands-on training round of VLSITHON 3.0 has officially concluded, marking another important milestone in the journey toward building the next generation of semiconductor talent in Bangladesh.

Participants from across the country had the opportunity to move beyond theoretical concepts and gain practical exposure to Physical Design (PnR) and industry-relevant EDA tools under the guidance of industry experts.

The session was more than just training, it was an opportunity to explore, practice, ask questions, and experience how semiconductor design concepts translate into real-world applications.

Job Overview:
As a full-time Engineer/Senior Engineer, the individual will be working on IC Physical Design implementation from RTL to GDSII to create design databases ready for manufacturing with a special focus on power, performance & area optimization with next-generation state-of-the-art process technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

Engineer:
1. Responsible for Physical Design & Sign-off tasks including Floor planning, Power Planning, CTS, Place and Route, ECO, LEC, STA, EMIR, and Physical Verification at block and/or full-chip level.
2. Develop flow and methodologies as per the requirements of the projects.
3. Prepare deliverables within the deadline by assisting and guiding team members.
4. Collaborate with customers to achieve the targets as a team.
5. Follow the instructions, compile documents, and report to the project lead or supervisor.
6. Adapt new technologies, workflow, and tools within a short amount of time.
7. Expected to be able to work with limited direction, pay attention to detail, and focus on high-quality design.

Senior Engineer:
1. Responsible for Physical Design & Sign-off tasks including Floor planning, Power Planning, CTS, Place and Route, ECO, LEC, STA, EMIR, and Physical Verification at block and full-chip level.
2. Develop flow and methodologies as per the requirements of the projects.
3. Manage and work with cross-functional teams engaged in different steps of chip design.
4. Collaborate with different business units of customers, resolve issues, and develop methodologies.
5. Manage project and team, schedule, plan AIs, and distribute tasks among team members.
6. Follow the instructions, compile documents, and report to the project lead or supervisor.
7. Develop junior team members by providing technical know-how.

Preferred Education and Experience:
1. B.Sc/M.Sc in EEE or equivalent degree with an emphasis on VLSI from any reputed university.
2. 3+ years of relevant experience for Engineer position & 5+ years of relevant experience for Senior Engineer position.

Other Requirements:
1. Experience in complete RTL to GDSII flow with Signoff in advanced technology nodes.
2. Good understanding of C/C++, Python, Perl and TCL.
3. Should be able to multitask and work under pressure.
4. Willing to work with cross-functional teams from different time zones.
5. Good analytical and debugging capabilities are a must.
