This achievement is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire team. We are deeply honored to be supported by the EC4J Project, an initiative by the Ministry of Commerce and the World Bank Bangladesh. Gratitudes for the opportunity!
Taslima started her company Leatherina and her brand of handbags, Gootipa, in 2016 to create high-quality, handcrafted leather goods while promoting ethical environmental practices and women's economic empowerment.
She did not have a lot of capital on hand, but she did have a strong ambition. A grant from a World Bank project helped her achieve this goal and grow her company from 40 workers to more than 70.
Stories like Taslima prove that with access to capital, skills, and the right support, women entrepreneurs can build businesses that create jobs, strengthen communities, and compete on the global stage. Learn more in our new immersive story: http://wrld.bg/85ZW50Zbw8l
