The Online Selection Round of IRO Bangladesh Open 2026 will be held for all categories from 10:00 AM on 28 August to 10:00 PM on 29 August 2026.

Participants will be able to access the detailed instructions on the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad website during the scheduled period and submit their required files and information through the designated Google Form.

Participation in the Online Selection Round is mandatory for all categories.

Participants are strongly advised to set aside at least a few hours to complete and submit all required information and files. The Google Form will automatically close at 10:00 PM on 29 August, and no submission will be possible after the deadline.

Please start your submission well in advance to avoid last minute technical difficulties.

Plan ahead. Submit on time. Take your next step toward IRO 2026.

Sometimes, the road to a dream begins with a setback.
A Z M Emtenan Kabir participated in the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad National round in 2022 but did not make it through. He returned the following year, tried again, got selected for the national team, and at the 26th International Robot Olympiad, won Silver and Bronze Medals.

He had always dreamed of studying in South Korea. Now, that dream is coming true as he prepares to begin his undergraduate journey at Yonsei University in Fall 2026.

But what makes us especially proud is what came after the medals. Emtenan trained BdRO's new workshop participants and helped build BdRO’s connections in the northern side of Bangladesh.

To this year’s IRO Bangladesh Open participants: remember his journey. Your achievements are not the end. Give back, share what you learn, and help the next participant move forward. That is how we build a stronger robotics and STEM community.

We are proud of Emtenan and grateful for his message to this year’s participants.

আন্তর্জাতিক রোবট অলিম্পিয়াডের মঞ্চে বাংলাদেশের হয়ে অংশ নেওয়ার অভিজ্ঞতা কেমন? চট্টগ্রামের শিক্ষার্থীদের সেই গল্পই শোনালেন আন্তর্জাতিক রোবট অলিম্পিয়াডের সাবেক গোল্ড মেডেলিস্ট মিসবাহ উদ্দিন ইনান ও জাইমা যাহিন ওয়ারা।

Chittagong Independent University-তে চট্টগ্রামের বিভিন্ন স্কুলের প্রায় ৬০ জন শিক্ষার্থী এবং ২০ জন শিক্ষক ও অভিভাবককে নিয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হলো আইআরও বাংলাদেশ ওপেন ২০২৬ নিয়ে একটি বিশেষ সেশন। আন্তর্জাতিক রোবট অলিম্পিয়াডের প্রস্তুতি ও আন্তর্জাতিক মঞ্চের অভিজ্ঞতা নিজেদের গল্প থেকে শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে ভাগ করে নেন মিসবাহ উদ্দিন ইনান ও জাইমা যাহিন ওয়ারা। শিক্ষার্থীদের বিভিন্ন প্রশ্নের উত্তরও দেন তাঁরা।

সেশনজুড়ে এবারের আন্তর্জাতিক রোবট অলিম্পিয়াডের মূল থিম ‘কালচারাল হেরিটেজ সার্ভিস রোবটস’ এবং আইআরও বাংলাদেশ ওপেন ২০২৬-এর চারটি ক্যাটাগরি—ক্রিয়েটিভ ক্যাটাগরি, ফিজিক্যাল কম্পিউটিং, মিশন চ্যালেঞ্জ ও রোবটিকস কুইজ—নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়। কীভাবে প্রস্তুতি নিতে হবে, কোন ক্যাটাগরিতে কী ধরনের কাজ করতে হয় এবং নিজের আগ্রহ অনুযায়ী কোন পথে এগোনো যায়, তা নিয়েও কথা হয়।

কেউ হয়তো প্রথমবার জানল আন্তর্জাতিক রোবট অলিম্পিয়াডের কথা, কেউ আবার নিজের প্রস্তুতিকে নতুন করে দেখার সুযোগ পেল। এই আয়োজন তাই হয়ে উঠেছিল জানার পাশাপাশি স্বপ্ন দেখারও একটি মুহূর্ত।

চট্টগ্রামের শিক্ষার্থীদের কাছে রোবটিক্স ও আন্তর্জাতিক রোবট অলিম্পিয়াডের সুযোগ পৌঁছে দিতে আয়োজনটির সঙ্গে থাকার জন্য Chittagong Independent University-কে আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ। আমরা ভবিষ্যতেও আমাদের বিভিন্ন আয়োজনে তাদের পাশে পাব বলে প্রত্যাশা করছি।

হয়তো এই সেশনে শোনা কোনো একটি গল্পই কাউকে আগামী দিনের আন্তর্জাতিক মঞ্চের জন্য প্রস্তুতি নিতে অনুপ্রাণিত করবে।

Sudipto Mondal first joined the IRO community as a Technical Awardee at IRO 2020. Since then, his connection with robotics has continued in new ways, as a mentor, teacher, researcher, and engineer.

Today, Sudipto is a Lecturer in the Department of CSE at United International University, where he teaches while conducting research in power electronics, renewable energy, embedded systems, and related areas of engineering. He has also continued mentoring competitive robotics and engineering teams, helping young builders turn their ideas into working projects and take them to national and international competitions.

Even with a busy teaching schedule at UIU, Sudipto made time to record a message for the participants of IRO Bangladesh Open 2026. We are sincerely grateful to him for taking the time and for continuing to give back to a community that was once an important part of his own student life.

For those preparing to compete this year, his journey offers a perspective worth carrying with you. The skills you develop while solving a robotics problem can stay with you long after the competition is over. They can shape what you study, the questions you ask, the projects you take on, and eventually, the knowledge you pass on to someone else.

RO Bangladesh Open 2026

Registration is now open for IRO Bangladesh Open 2026! 🤖🇧🇩

Through this competition, the Bangladesh National Team will be selected to represent the country at the 28th International Robot Olympiad (IRO), which will be held in Vienna, Austria, in January 2027.

Who can participate?
Students from Grade 1 to Grade 12.

• Creative Category
• Physical Computing
• Mission Challenge
• Robotics Quiz (held only at the national level; there is no Robotics Quiz category at the international competition)

This year's theme
Cultural Heritage Service Robots:
Robots that help people experience, understand, and protect cultural heritage.

Bangladesh has already achieved an impressive record at the International Robot Olympiad over the past eight years, winning 15 Gold, 22 Silver, and 34 Bronze medals.
