ROUTER - The Club of ECE Discipline, Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh. The final constitution was formalized on July 11th, 2002.

ROUTER is the club of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) students at Khulna University, standing for “Roaming Over the Universe Through Electronic Roadway.” The club's theme, "In Search of a New Frontier," encapsulates its mission to explore and expand the frontiers of knowledge and innovation in electronics and communication. The club's constitution was initially designed by an “ad hoc

” committee following a decision made during a general meeting of the ECE discipline on April 4th, 2002. ROUTER was established to enrich and expand the capabilities of ECE students, preparing them to meet the diverse demands of the 21st-century electronics and communication sectors alongside their academic pursuits. The objective of ROUTER is to foster a deeper understanding and practical knowledge of professional life in the Information, Electronics, and Communication sectors. The club aims to ensure an integrated working environment that nurtures human resources for both research and field-oriented jobs in the ICT sector of the future. ROUTER organizes seminars, project fairs, and publishes ICT-based magazines annually, providing platforms for students to showcase their talents and engage with the broader community.

ROUTER proudly features Mahmudul Hasan Abid (ECE’18), currently pursuing research in collaboration with École Centrale Méditerranée (France), University of Edinburgh (UK), and Nokia Bell Lab (France).

He works on integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) techniques for non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) using free-space optical (FSO) links. His research focuses on developing adaptive, AI-driven methods that enhance the resilience and robustness of optical wireless communication under dynamic atmospheric conditions.

From Mahmudul Hasan Abid :
"My thesis investigates integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) techniques for resilient non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) using free-space optical (FSO) links. The primary objective is to develop adaptive solutions that leverage real-time joint sensing and communication to maintain robust optical wireless links under dynamic atmospheric conditions. Special emphasis is given to the design of efficient waveform schemes, enabling both reliable data transmission and precise environmental sensing to extract key channel parameters. The research will also incorporate AI-based methods, especially for predictive channel tracking and real-time waveform adaptation, to meet the dynamic requirements of ISAC for optical NTN links. In the end, this work is expected to contribute to building resilient optical backbones in the sky-air-ground, aligned with the goals of the FOCAL MSCA Doctoral Networks project. "

He works on computer vision using deep learning and machine learning for medical images. His main focus is finding important areas in whole slide pathology images (WSI) and building AI tools that can draft medical image reports to help doctors decide faster and more accurately.

ROUTER is thrilled to share another successful completion of our session "Introduction to MATLAB for Engineering Applications (Day 3) online", conducted by our special guest, Md. Irfan Hussain Sikder (ECE’19).

In the 3rd session, participants were introduced to plotting and functions in MATLAB. They learned how to create various types of plots to visualize data effectively and explored the basics of writing and using functions to organize and simplify their code. This session built on their foundational knowledge and helped students gain practical skills in data visualization and modular programming within MATLAB.

A heartfelt thanks to our Club Advisors, Professor Dr. Uzzal Biswas Sir & Associate Professor Dr. Rafia Nishat Toma Ma’am, for their constant support and encouragement in making this event possible.

ROUTER is thrilled to share another successful completion of our offline session "Introduction to Research & Publications", where we explored the essentials of starting and excelling in academic research, with our special guest, Professor Dr. Abdullah-Al Nahid sir, Professor, Electronics & Communication Engineering Discipline, Khulna University.

In this session, he provided invaluable insights into the research process — from formulating ideas to writing impactful papers and getting published in reputed journals. His guidance covered both the fundamentals and practical strategies, making it a perfect learning experience for students at all levels.

Participants gained a clearer understanding of how to plan research, select the right journals, and avoid common pitfalls in publication. Professor Dr. Abdullah Al Nahid sir also shared motivational tips on building a research profile and contributing meaningfully to the academic community. The session was highly appreciated for its clarity, structure, and inspiration to kickstart research journeys.
