𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 (Khandakar Muktadir sir) 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲, 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 & 𝗝𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗮𝗿. It was an incredible opportunity to discuss our vision, progress, and the challenges we are facing, especially our current funding limitations.

He was genuinely amazed to learn that we are carrying out such innovative work through self-funding, and showed great enthusiasm about the future of electric and autonomous technology in building a self-dependent nation. His encouraging words reminded us why we started this journey.

This recognition means everything to our team. We are now more motivated than ever to complete this project, and we hope to secure the necessary support to acquire advanced sensors and computing units to take SUST AutoDrive to the next level.

Big news from Team Autodrive!

We are incredibly proud to share that Team Autodrive from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) has advanced to the Semi-Finals of the Bosch Future Mobility Challenge 2026, organized by Bosch.

After the interview and qualification rounds, our team ranked in the Top 22 among 163 teams worldwide, and we are honored to be the only team representing Bangladesh 🇧🇩 at this stage of the competition.

The Bosch Future Mobility Challenge is one of the world’s leading student competitions focused on autonomous driving and intelligent mobility systems. Teams from universities around the globe design and develop AI-powered self-driving vehicles capable of navigating complex urban environments while solving real-world mobility challenges.

Through this competition, participants work on technologies such as:
🔹 Autonomous navigation
🔹 Computer vision and perception
🔹 Sensor fusion and vehicle control
🔹 Smart mobility and traffic interaction

Being selected among the Top 22 teams globally is a huge milestone for our team and a proud moment for Bangladesh’s growing presence in robotics and autonomous mobility innovation.

We’re excited for the next stage and grateful for everyone supporting our journey. The road ahead looks thrilling!

Proudly presenting our qualifying run for the Bosch Future Mobility Challenge 2026.

In this run, our autonomous vehicle successfully navigates a wide range of real competition scenarios including stop signs, crosswalks, pedestrians, intersections, roundabouts, highways, and overtaking — all on the BFMC track.

Our system is built around a topological localization approach, where traffic sign locations are integrated directly into a graph-based map of the track. Using this structure, the system generates the route, curvature, and the nearest traffic sign information along the path. The vehicle primarily follows the road using lane masking and centerline-based pure pursuit control, while the sign-based topological localization continuously tracks the car’s position on the track and ensures correct decision-making at key points.

Our technology stack combines the power of ROS 2 Humble, the BFMC Brain coordination system with WebUI, and a STM32 Nucleo microcontroller responsible for low-level vehicle control. The perception, planning, and decision-making modules run as ROS2 nodes, communicating through DDS (Data Distribution Service), while the microcontroller handles motors, steering, and sensor interfaces.

Despite working with limited hardware, we focused on building a robust and practical system. Our vehicle operates without UWB localization or high-end positioning systems, relying instead on computer vision, traffic sign understanding, and our topological localization strategy. This makes the system lightweight, efficient, and accessible for teams with limited resources.

This project represents countless hours of sleepless nights, coding, testing, debugging, and tuning by the dedicated members of SUST Autodrive. Every line of code and every iteration brought us closer to a reliable autonomous system.

We are proud to share this milestone and hopeful that, In Sha Allah, our work will earn us a place in the next stage of the competition.

২০২৫ সাল আমাদের জন্য সত্যিই একটি অসাধারণ বছর। এই বছরে টিম হিসেবে আমরা অনেক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অর্জন করেছি, যার মধ্যে অন্যতম হলো আমাদের নিজস্ব ইলেকট্রিক গাড়ির ডেভেলপমেন্ট।

চলতি বছরের জানুয়ারি মাসে আমরা আমাদের ইলেকট্রিক গাড়ির উন্নয়ন কাজ শুরু করি এবং মাত্র ছয় মাসের মধ্যেই সেই ডেভেলপমেন্ট সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করি। এরপর আমরা আমাদের নিজস্ব গাড়ি নিয়ে সাদা পাথরে প্রথম রোড ট্রিপ করি, যেটা আমাদের জন্য ছিল একেবারেই আলাদা রকমের এক অনুভূতি।

শুধু তাই নয়, এই বছর আমরা Bosch Future Mobility Challenge 2026–এর জন্য নির্বাচিত হয়েছি এবং একই সঙ্গে দুটি জাতীয় পর্যায়ের ইভেন্টেও বিজয় অর্জন করেছি।

এই বছরটি ছিল আমাদের ইলেকট্রিক গাড়ির উন্নয়নের বছর। আর সবকিছু পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী এগোলে, আগামী বছর আমরা একটি নতুন ইতিহাস গড়তে যাচ্ছি। আমরা ইতিমধ্যেই আমাদের সেন্সর এবং কম্পিউটিং ইউনিটের খরচের একটি বড় অংশ সংগ্রহ করতে পেরেছি। এখন আমরা রাস্তায় আমাদের সফটওয়্যার টেস্টিংয়ের জন্য প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছি।

২০২৬ সালেই আমরা রাস্তায় আমাদের Autonomous ফিচারগুলো টেস্ট করা শুরু করব এবং বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে প্রথমবারের মতো একটি Self-Driving Car প্রযুক্তি উন্মোচনের পথে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছি, এই বিশ্বাস আমাদের অটুট।

2025 has truly been an extraordinary year for us. As a team, we achieved several major milestones, the most significant being the development of our own electric vehicle.

We began our electric vehicle development in January and successfully completed it within just six months. Shortly after, we took our first road trip to Sada Pathor with our own vehicle, an experience that was both unforgettable and deeply emotional for the entire team.

This year also marked another major achievement as we were selected for the Bosch Future Mobility Challenge 2026, along with winning two national-level competitions.

While 2025 was the year of building our electric vehicle, the coming year holds something even bigger. We have already secured a major portion of the funding required for our sensors and computing units, and we are now preparing to begin real-road software testing.

In 2026, we will officially start testing our autonomous features on public roads, and we are strongly hopeful that we will unveil Bangladesh’s first self-driving car technology, creating a new chapter in the country’s technological history.
