Mekanika Mekanika is a platform offering innovative open source tools and machines. Making manufacturing accessible, one machine at a time. Our purpose?

We're on a mission to democratize local production and empower the makers, artisans, and tinkerers who believe in shaping a better world through meaningful creation. Make manufacturing more accessible at a local level. We believe that a large proportion of the products we use every day could be fully produced locally, reducing unnecessary product transports and creating meaningful jobs everywhere. We design and build open-source CNC milling and screen printing machines, paired with comprehensive educational content that gets anyone creating products in just days, with no technical background required. Our approach combines open-source technology, accessible learning resources, sustainable production practices, and building a global community of makers who support each other. Build it yourself, know it inside out.

Grégory assembled his Fab himself, from the first part to the last electric cable. For him, that’s the real plus: every step is explained, so you know why you’re doing it and what it’s for. You understand how your machine works and you can pinpoint an issue faster.

His verdict: “More than useful. A necessity.”

Thank you Grégory and WeCase for sharing your experience with us.

Something’s coming to the Mekanika project library

Meet David, the woodworker behind near Bordeaux, named Meilleur Artisan de France 2026 in joinery.

He pairs traditional hand craftsmanship with the precision of his Mekanika Fab, and that combination is behind his mid-century-inspired Easy Armchair collection.

And he’s about to share something special with the community: the full plans of the Chandigarh stool from that collection, inspired by Pierre Jeanneret’s iconic design.

Free, open source and ready to mill.

The tutorial and files will be shared next week. Stay tuned!

Ever wondered what happens behind the Lab doors?

This is where our Product team spends its days testing, breaking, fixing and making every machine a little better.

Exploring new ideas, pushing what CNC can do, and shaping what comes next.

So many parts. So many cuts. One essential tool.

At , Grégory builds flightcases. He started out with a router and jigs.

As the panels and cuts multiplied, the CNC quickly became the obvious next step.

Today, the Fab brings him more efficiency, more speed, more precision, and the freedom to go into detail.

Thank you Grégory and the WeCase team for opening your workshop to us and sharing your experience.

Meet the new Vacuum Table

One table, two ways to hold your work.

◾️ Suction for flat, solid stock.
◾️ Mechanical clamping, with T-track profiles and direct spoilerboard fixation, for everything else: light pieces, irregular shapes, long machining runs.

Thanks for your feedback that allowed us to build this new version.

Another great .brussels workshop at Mekanika Lab!

Last week, a group of creatives gathered at Mekanika Lab for a practical first dive into CNC milling, a session we ran together with .brussels.

Louise accompanied the participants through the entire CNC workflow, from the idea, to CAD/CAM, and ending with a live demo.

One last session is on the way. Follow .brussels so you don’t miss it!

No two projects look alike at Copeaux'nd Co.

That's exactly how Florian likes it.

From his workshop near Metz, Florian () builds custom furniture, interior fit-outs, staircases and outdoor decking. Solid wood and panels first, plus resin, metal or leather whenever a project calls for it.

The Fab and vacuum table take care of the repetitive part. No more clamping each piece by hand: drilling and cutting jobs run back to back.

Swipe through a few pieces from the workshop. Full story in bio.

Your project is too thick for your CNC? Not anymore.

The wait is over: the Z600 is here!

With the Z600, the Z-axis of our Pro and Fab now reaches new heights:
→ Cut up to 200 mm thick, 2× more than the Z350 (ex High-Z)
→ Long end mills for deep pockets and detailed 3D reliefs
→ Made for solid wood, foam, plaster and more

Discover more through the link in bio.

Cut with end mills. Good tooling makes all the difference at full Z height.

What if thickness was no longer a limit? 👀

Something big is coming to the Pro and Fab.

Stay tuned.

The vacuum table 2.0 is here, and it’s built from your feedback

You told us about the pieces that don't sit flat, don't hold well under suction, or need longer machining time.

So we built a table that does both: suction and mechanical clamping, in one.

T-track clamps for light or irregular pieces. Direct spoilerboard fixation for a rock solid hold. Mechanical clamping for long runs. The Black Box vacuum pump stays the same.

Watch it in action and discover more through the link in bio.
