The HSI Joint Venture, comprising (formed mid last year through the integration of HSM Offshore Energy and Smulders) and .engineering , safely lifted the cable deck onto the jacket of the Offshore Substation (OSS) Darß at our yard in Vlissingen.

With the project now in the next phase, we can prepare the jacket for its load-out later this year. This milestone once again proves the successful collaboration between all our project teams!

OSS Darß is one of two offshore substations for the grid connection OST-6-1 in the Baltic Sea with approximately 900 MW capacity on a 220 kV alternating voltage level.

Today, we're travelling overseas to visit our vehicle maintenance team at our Smulders yard in Newcastle. 🧰 They are the ultimate pit stop, handling both planned and last-minute repairs to keep our plant equipment moving. ⚙️ From cherry pickers and forklifts to mobile cranes and SPMTs, if it’s got wheels, this crew has got it covered! 😎

Major milestone achieved for Baltica 2!

On 12 May, we successfully completed the load-out of the first six suspended internal platforms. Having safely departed from the assembly yard at the Świnoujście Offshore Terminal (Poland), the platforms are now ready for installation in the Polish Baltic Sea. 🌊

We’re proud to contribute to Polish local content through this project and look forward to realizing this great wind farm together with our clients PGE and Ørsted. 🙌

Smulders, through Iemants, together with , will renew the pontoon at Steenplein in Antwerp for .

The new 150 m structure will improve accessibility and comfort, with more space, a wider access bridge and room for four vessels.

What does mum do at work? According to these little artists, she builds wind turbines at sea, works on steel bridges, types “for the TV” and makes sure everyone gets it right. 😉

First secondary steel sets for Hornsea 3 ready for offshore installation 🌊

At our yard in Newcastle, we successfully completed the safe load-out of the first secondary steel sets for the Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm, developed by Ørsted. The structures were shipped to the Port of Tyne, ahead of offshore installation which will kick off shortly.

With fabrication across our Polish and Belgian sites and final assembly in Newcastle, this project proudly combines our international expertise with strong local UK content.

As the project enters its final phase, we’re proud to be soon contributing to a more sustainable future powered by offshore wind. ⚡

Last Sunday, more than 80 runners in Smulders jerseys proudly conquered the 10 Miles in Antwerp! Four more even tackled the 5 Miles the day before. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️

The event has become an annual tradition, growing in popularity among our masterworkers year after year. 🙌 With our booth as the place to be before and after the race, we could cheer each other on and catch our breath. 😮‍💨

The Bałtyk 3 topside moves to the next phase!

The Bałtyk 3 substation topside has successfully been moved out of the production hall to the yard at our Vlissingen site. Further outfitting will now continue outside, with load‑out planned for next year.

Another strong milestone powered by teamwork across our yards. 💪
