Building connections across the Scheldt

More space, more comfort and better access for people travelling across the Scheldt. That’s what the new pontoon for Antwerp’s Steenplein will help provide.

And it’s taking shape thanks to craftsmanship close to home. Our teams in Balen, Arendonk and Hoboken are working on the project, which we are delivering together with Herbosch-Kiere.

From Dutch yards to the Baltic Sea: OSS Zingst and Darß are in place

A major milestone for OSS Zingst and OSS Darß: both have been successfully installed in the German Baltic Sea. As part of 50Hertz's OST-6-1 grid connection, the offshore substations were transported and installed during a single offshore campaign.

Allseas installed both jackets and topsides using Pioneering Spirit. Smulders HSM and Iv are proud to deliver the complete EPCIC scope as the HSI Joint Venture.

A great achievement made possible by the expertise, commitment and close cooperation of everyone involved.

A bridge with a past. A connection for the future.

For nearly 90 years, the Gerrit Krol Bridge has been an important connection in Groningen. Now, Rijkswaterstaat has awarded the contract for its replacement to the Bridges and Lock Alliance, including Iemants (part of Smulders), Mobilis and Machinefabriek Rusthoven.

Together, we’ll build a new lift bridge and two pedestrian and cycle bridges, helping keep Groningen connected for decades to come.

A few weeks ago, we practised. Now it’s in place. ✅

The first renovated 340-tonne Krammer Locks gate is back where it belongs following renovation works, transport by water and an impressive installation. Congratulations to everyone involved in making it happen.

And now? We’ve already started work on the next lock gate. One down, four to go!

A chilly autumn day? Perfect weather for a run!

Yesterday, our colleagues and their friends and family members tackled the TREK Antwerp Marathon, Half Marathon or the 10K.

Together with 20,000 other runners, they completed a route past many of Antwerp’s beautiful landmarks.

Congratulations everyone! 👏

From yard to horizon.

OSS Zingst and OSS Darß have set sail.

For months, these jackets and topsides shaped the skyline in Schiedam and Vlissingen. And now they're heading towards the German Baltic Sea, where they'll become part of the grid connection for the Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm.

It’s moments like this that reminds us why we build.
