Cette compétition met en concurrence plusieurs groupes de jeunes belges. Notre but est de construire un satellite sous forme de canette de 33cl et de l’envoyer, grâce à un système de propulsion, dans le ciel (à plusieurs centaines de mètres du sol) pour y effectuer 2 missions. La première tâche de chaque groupe sera de calculer la température et la pression de l’air. Par contre, les élèves auront
le libre choix de décider leur mission secondaire. Nous nous sommes donc mis d’accord pour réaliser la cartographie du champ magnétique terrestre. Cette mission a du sens dans un projet plus large d’étude de l’évolution du champ magnétique terrestre au cours du temps afin de surveiller l’inversion de notre champ magnétique qui semble nous guetter et éventuellement pouvoir la lier aux changements climatiques.
12 équipes belges (dont la nôtre) sont sélectionnées. Début mai 2015, nous irons défendre en anglais notre projet devant un jury. Seules les 8 meilleures équipes seront reprises pour participer à l’épreuve suivante. Nous aurons donc peut-être la chance de pouvoir nous rendre dans une base militaire aux Pays-Bas fin mai 2015 pour lancer notre Can Sat. Ce projet a aussi pour but de sensibiliser les jeunes à se diriger vers des études scientifiques car « Avec les sciences, on avance ! »

The pupils of 5th secondary of the INDSC having taken the strong sciences option (6h+2hadditional) take part in the project " CanSat ". This one puts in competition several groups of young Belgians students. Our purpose is to make a satellite in the form of a bottle of 33 Cl and to send it, thanks to a propulsion system, in the sky (in several hundred meters of the ground) to carry out 2 missions there. The first task of each group will be to calculate the temperature and the pressure of the air. On the other hand, the pupils will have the free choice to decide their secondary mission. We thus agreed to carry out the cartography of the terrestrial magnetic field. This mission is meaningful in a broader project of study of the evolution of the terrestrial magnetic field in time in order to supervise the inversion of our magnetic field which seems to watch for us and possibly be able to bind it to the climatic changes.
12 Belgian teams (of which ours) are selected. At the beginning of May 2015, we will defend in English our project in front of a jury. Only the 8 best teams will be taken again to take part in the following test. We will thus be likely perhaps to be able to go in a military base to the Netherlands at the end of May 2015 to launch our Can Sat. This project also aims to make sensitive the young people to move towards scientific studies because "with the sciences, we move forwards". If we win this Belgian competition, we will be taken again to take part at the European level!!! Gli studenti di 5 secondari del INDSC avendo preso l'opzione Scienze forti (6h+2h di supplemento) partecipano al progetto " CanSat ". Questa competizione mette in concorrenza parecchi gruppi di giovani Belgi. Il nostro scopo è di costruire un satellite sotto forma di spoletta di 33Cl e di inviarlo, grazie ad un sistema di propulsione, nel cielo ( a molte centinaia di metri del suolo ) per condurre due missioni. Il primo compito di ogni gruppo sarà di calcolare la temperatura e la pressione dell'aria. Invece, gli studenti avranno la libera scelta di decidere la loro missione secondaria. Ci siamo dunque messi d'accordo per realizzare la cartografia del campo magnetico terrestre. Questa missione ha del senso in un progetto più ampio di studi dell' evoluzione del campo magnetico terrestre col tempo in modo da sorvegliare l'inversione dell nostro campo magnetico che sembra spiarci ed eventualmente potere legarla ai cambiamenti climatici.
12 squadre belghe (di cui la nostra) sono selezionate. Inizio Maggio 2015, andremo a difendere in inglese il nostro progetto davanti ad una giuria. Solo le 8 migliori squadre saranno riprese per partecipare alla seguente prova. Avremo dunque forse la fortuna di potere renderci in una base militare nei Paesi Bassi fine maggio 2015 per lanciare il nostro Can Sat. Questo progetto ha anche per scopo di sensibilizzare i giovani a dirigersi verso gli studi scientifici perché " Con le scienze, si avanza! "
Se guadagniamo questa competizione belga, saremo ripresi per partecipare al livello europeo!!!
