💧 Because knowing how much water you move is important...

We, Clayton, use a volumetric (positive displacement) pump in our steam generators because it delivers a precise and nearly constant flow rate of water, regardless of pressure variations in the system.

🤨 Why you should care?

1. Accurate water dosing
🔹 Steam production depends directly on the amount of water fed into the generator.
🔹A volumetric pump moves a fixed volume per stroke or revolution, allowing precise control of steam output.

2. Can pump against high pressure
🔹Steam generators often operate at elevated pressures.
🔹Positive displacement pumps maintain flow even as boiler pressure rises

3. Stable steam production
🔹Consistent feedwater flow results in more stable steam generation, temperature, and pressure.
🔹This improves process control and product quality.

4. Good for low-flow applications
🔹 Steam generators require relatively small but accurate water flow rates.
🔹Volumetric pumps are efficient and reliable in this operating range.

5. Easy automation
🔹The pump speed can be directly linked to the desired steam output. For example, doubling the pump speed approximately doubles the water feed rate and therefore the steam production rate.

A last update on the works before the bank holiday starts.

Hangar was taken down and now soil prep works... things are moving 😎

And on the 4th day John Clayton saw it was good 😎

Now the works have finally kicked off, our owner couldn't resist to come over and see for himself the first changes.

The new temporary parking lot was prepared and from the looks of it, John was happy.
