⚡ Could renewables become Europe’s greatest competitive advantage?

In times of instability and geopolitical uncertainty, renewables have become the ‘guiding light in the dark’. This was the message that resonated throughout the SolarPower Summit 2026 organised by

🔹 Renewables already cover 50% of EU power demand
🔹 With faster solar and storage deployment, renewables could meet nearly 70% of EU electricity demand by 2030
🔹 Accelerating renewables and storage could halve EU power system operating costs by 2030
🔹 Solar could help the EU save up to €53 billion annually in gas import costs by 2030, with €223 billion in cumulative savings between 2026 and 2030

➡️ The challenge ahead is no longer proving that renewables work, but building the systems that allow them to power economies at scale, placing grids, storage, electrification and flexibility at the centre of the transition.
