We're proud to share that our Green River plant team in Wyoming has received the Sentinels of Safety Award from the National Mining Association, recognizing outstanding safety performance in 2025.

This achievement reflects a strong safety culture built every day by our employees. Looking out for one another, speaking up and taking ownership are what help make safety more than a priority. They make it a core value.

Global Safety Week begins today at Solvay.

Over the coming days, colleagues around the world will take part in activities focused on recognizing hazards, understanding risks, and strengthening well-being and psychological safety.

From looking more closely at potential hazards in our work environments to discussing how we can make it easier for people to raise concerns, the week is an opportunity to learn from one another and turn awareness into action.

It’s also a moment to recognize the safety initiatives already making a difference across Solvay and the people behind them.

Global Safety Week gives us a common moment to focus on safety. What matters is carrying that attention into the way we work every day.

What difference can menstrual dignity make in a girl's life?

Since 2023, Solvay, pantys and Arrastão have worked together to help improve access to menstrual health solutions and education for girls in Brazil.

Now, Arrastão is taking the next step by beginning the W+ certification process, a journey designed to measure and validate the impact of initiatives focused on menstrual health, education, and inclusion.

We're proud to support a project that combines innovation, education, and community action, while helping generate the evidence needed to expand what works.

There’s a difference between knowing how a process works on paper and seeing how it works every day.

It’s a lesson Mayra Steffen, Site Manager at our Parachute site in the USA, learned early in her career from an operator, and one she still brings to every field visit.

Her goal is to understand how operations can be safer than yesterday. She spends time with operators and mechanics, listens to their experience, and looks at potential issues firsthand rather than trying to solve everything from an office.

When she notices a hazard, she believes in acting on it too. During safety walks, Mayra carries caution tape and tags, so visible deviations can be addressed immediately.

Small actions matter when they help someone recognize a hazard before it becomes an injury.

When working with chemicals, some of the most important safety decisions happen before the task even starts.

Luiza Pacheco, HSE Manager at our Paulínia site in Brazil, highlights thorough planning as one of the keyways to prevent chemical exposure incidents.

That includes understanding which chemicals are present, knowing what activities will be performed and ensuring the appropriate engineering controls and isolation procedures are in place.

Her experience across risk management, occupational safety and process safety reinforces a simple principle: good preparation creates the conditions for safer work.

When a task becomes familiar, it can be easy to switch into “automation mode” and overlook risks that are right in front of us.

Shunping Cai, Operations Manager and Safety Trainer-Coach at our Liyang site in China, reminds us that familiarity can lead to routine, and routine can make it harder to notice when something has changed.

Even if the process or equipment remains the same, changes in the surrounding environment can create new risks. That’s why hazard identification isn’t a one-time exercise.

It means staying curious, paying attention and continuing to look at familiar surroundings with fresh eyes. 👀
