🌊 A new construction milestone has been reached for the Princess Elisabeth Island.

The 23rd and final caisson has been placed, marking the end of a major construction phase for the island's outer structure. Built and assembled over the past years, these 23 caissons will form the foundation of the future energy hub in the Belgian North Sea.

Made possible through the expertise, commitment and collaboration between Elia, DEME and Jan De Nul, this achievement brings the project one step further and demonstrates the scale of collaboration required to prepare tomorrow's energy infrastructure.

For 25 years, Cecile has helped keep Elia’s numbers in balance. From floppy disks and telex messages to SAP and AI, she has witnessed remarkable change while staying true to one constant: the importance of accuracy.
As a Tax Officer, her work may happen behind the scenes, but its impact is essential. Through expertise, precision and a strong sense of responsibility, she helps ensure Elia fulfills its mission every day.

Across Elia Group, colleagues recently took on an internal vibe coding challenge to explore how AI can help turn ideas into interactive demos, from making everyday work smarter to bringing complex energy system challenges to life.

The result? A wide range of creative prototypes, driven by curiosity, experimentation and a willingness to try something new, a true reflection of how innovation comes to life across Elia. 💡

🏆 Congratulations to our colleague Fabrizio Vinci from 50Hertz, whose winning demo, MeetSmart, earned him a ticket to VivaTech Paris!

Last Saturday, we opened our doors for Elia’s Technical Discovery Day! 🔧🚀

On March 28th, tech enthusiasts and professionals with a passion for energy joined us for an inspiring day filled with hands‑on workshops across our key technical fields: Design, Dispatch, High Voltage, Low Voltage, and Cables & Lines.
