What a team meetip that was! 😍🤯

We were incredibly well received at Hangar 27 and !

For our hybrid Qteal team, the agenda was simple and exactly how we like it:
– understand how DronePort is pioneering unmanned aviation in Belgium
– get a clear view on how Sint-Truiden’s airport actually operates today
– dive into the rich history of the Sint-Truiden airbase

That history truly came alive thanks to Jacques Waldeyer, former colonel of the base, who shared first-hand stories with clarity, context and a lot of passion.

And then came the hands-on part.
A simulator flight in the Mirage BD-09 — the jet used to train F-16 pilots back in the day.
Focus, precision, pressure. Engineers felt right at home.

We wrapped up the day with a great dinner and good conversations — the kind that only happen when people take time to really connect.

A big thank you to everyone at Hangar 27, DronePort and the military staff for the warm welcome, the openness and the inspiration.

Learning how complex systems work — in software or aviation — always starts by looking under the hood. 👀

Yesterday at the office ☕️

We had the .be over to talk espresso.
No fancy barista show — just how it actually works.

Grind a bit finer, everything changes.
Too fast? Too slow? Why?

Funny thing: quality-driven software engineers are exactly the right crowd for this.
Nobody was looking for a “hack”.
People just wanted to understand what was going on under the hood.

Tweak one variable, see what breaks, try again.

Felt very… Qteal.

Through our internal crowdfunding system, he helped Qteal put energy into something genuinely warm and meaningful — exactly why we build these kinds of systems in the first place.

An epic LTOTY edition.
Setting our goals for next year, learning from our ups and downs in 2025, and waking up our inner adventurous spirit.

Add a sauna, good wine, a surprise adventurous coffee moment by Coffeecrusador, bushcrafting, and plenty of great food…
Safe to say: our engineers are happy.

Struggling with a tough company decision? Here is Jan’s take on how to handle it.

Ask yourself the following question: “Would I make the same choice if it were a private call, with my own money on the line?”

We’ve seen managers and CEOs overspend on events they’d never pay for privately. Why?
Because they can — nobody questions it, and it’s rarely visible.

Clarity comes when you treat company resources like your own.

And it lets engineers do what they’re best at:
solving problems, building solutions, and improving systems — not navigating bureaucracy.

We’re not perfect, but every day we choose the 0.1% path.

Who remembers that one time we organised a team activity during our LTOTY, where only 4 people participated and the rest of the team stayed in drinking something hot drinks at the cafetaria (check the last picture 🫣)

During our last FTOTM with we earned our pizzas through creative (and slightly chaotic) team challenges — proving once again that teamwork really is the secret ingredient.
