Not every surface of a component needs a nickel coating. Holes, threads and mating surfaces may need to remain uncoated to preserve their function and dimensions.

At MVT, we carefully mask these areas before electroless nickel plating. Precise preparation ensures protection is applied exactly where it is needed.

Hard electroless nickel improves wear resistance, achieving a surface hardness of around 950 HV after heat treatment. This can extend component life and reduce the need for replacement.

Peter Goorts celebrated an impressive 35 years at MVT on 26 August. As a valued member of our Finance team, he has played an important role in supporting MVT’s financial operations throughout the years.

The larger and more complex the component, the more demanding the surface treatment. Dimensions, weight and variable geometries all require a carefully controlled process.

With six fully equipped production lines, nickel baths with a capacity of up to 16,500 litres and a lifting capacity of up to 10 tonnes, MVT is equipped to process components measuring up to 4.5 metres in length. The result? Large components with a uniform, wear- and corrosion-resistant coating, finished with the same precision as smaller parts.
