The Stuttgart Theaterhaus has a rich history of fostering the performing arts in the region. Originally established in the late 20th century, it has been a cornerstone of Stuttgart's cultural scene, hosting a wide array of performances ranging from classical theatre to contemporary dance. Over the years, the Theaterhaus has undergone several renovations and expansions to meet the growing demands of its audience and to incorporate modern technological advancements. The latest redevelopment project, completed in 2024, marks a new chapter in its storied legacy, enhancing its capacity and versatility while preserving its commitment to artistic excellence. The project, commissioned by the Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart and designed in collaboration with Raum + Szene, showcases innovative design and engineering.
The Theaterhaus features a transportable retractable seating system, which includes nine double platform seats and fixed seats, allowing for flexible configurations to accommodate various types of events. With a total seating capacity of 1156, the venue includes 540 telescopic seats, 27 removable seats, 329 fixed balcony seats, and 260 loose seats, ensuring comfort and accessibility for all attendees.
