An inspiring day at Fluvius!

On October 17th, 2025, the RealDev team had the pleasure of attending Agoria’s Business Opportunity Event, alongside key players driving the energy transition and digitalization. 🌍

A big thank you to Dirk Costrop for the warm welcome and the exclusive tour of the Mechelen labs, seeing Fluvius’ innovative projects in action, from smart grids to energy-efficient solutions, was truly inspiring!

Thanks also to Koen van der Veer for his insights on the challenges of data management in the energy sector. Key takeaways included:

- Rising energy demand: electrification of mobility (2.45 million electric vehicles expected by 2035), heat pumps deployment, and industry’s drive toward carbon-free operations.

- 2026–2035 outlook: accelerated data growth, securely available to all market participants, with 40 key initiatives and €30 million/year invested in data infrastructure and services.

- Investments & energy transition: implementing solutions to enhance grid flexibility and meet growing expectations, leveraging the Twin Transition and digitalization for smarter, faster, and more reliable networks.
