Mycotoxins are toxic secondary metabolites of fungi commonly found on grains, which can cause severe impacts on animal health and performance. Of 300 to 400 known mycotoxins, aflatoxin and deoxynivalenol are two of the most common and harmful for the feed and animal industries.
One method to reduce the detrimental impact of mycotoxin contamination is the use of feed additives. Aflatoxin B1 in combination with deoxynivalenol will have an impact on gut heath, liver health and overall animal performance.
A study published in TOXINS shows that UNIKE®Plus, provides maximum protection not only against ingested mycotoxins, but also against the negative effects of absorbed mycotoxins; and it works equally well for sows, boars, and piglets.
