Not all repairs justify making new parts, this lovely De Dion Bouton IE very unfortunately broke one of its brake shoes, after a extensive search to find a new or used replacement, without any success !!!... a repair was the only route.

As there was insufficient material to clamp too, we opted to make a suitable clamp.

Arie-Jean Engineering are making Pre-War motoring a family affair ! !

This week we made a ISO Fix installation for a Bentley so the owner can safely take his children out, enjoying open top motoring.

Each installation is unique, as we look for the most secure mounting points and ensure the ISO Fix mounts are perfectly aligned to the back of the children's seat.

When a client asked if we could help with his new OSCAR brake drums, we where more than happy to take on the challenge.

Firstly we needed to make a suitable alignment / backplate tool for the copper rivets , then slightly modify our rivet set...

Once aligned, we carefully heated each copper rivet, then Michiel rounded and closed each.

And what a beautiful result !

Flying Scotsman 2026

The last surviving 1907 Farcot & Olivier Sports Roadster in for a full engine rebuild. We've just taken delivery of the new crank. The new crank is designed to include oil channels helping much needed lubrication....

Bentley 4 1/4 Hub adjustment nut & removal tool..

Like so many old cars, work has been carried out without the right tools. This creates some interesting challenges that we thrive on.... fix it and fix it properly !

Firstly we machined a suitable tool (A interpretation of Bentley Motors Part number R2516) successfully removed the old nut, then fabricated a replacement nut & locking ring. No waiting for difficult to find replacement parts ! shipping and customs delays...
