Windfire enables countries, cities, organizations and individuals to all become renewable energy producers. We no longer need massive investments into infrastructure, such as transmission grids, that ruin our environment and lose much of their energy over long distances. Windfire combines a unique formula of groundbreaking engineering, stunning industrial design, and innovative business practices
to achieve this goal. As a company, Windfire believes in long-term solutions that are financially sound on their own, without the need for governmental subsidies or additional feed-in tariffs. We intend to make Distributed Energy not only environmentally sustainable, but economically sustainable as well. Consumers are becoming energy producers. Like industrial producers, they want to produce their energy at the lowest possible cost. Unlike industrial producers, they live next to the production facilities, which need to be clean, quiet and visually appealing. Windfire is therefore introducing a vertical axis wind turbine that is very powerful for its small size, quiet, and pretty enough to go anywhere. Windfire has partnered with leading Italian design firm Pininfarina and internationally-renowned aerodynamic company Aerotrope, developers of the world’s fastest sailing boat, to focus on beautiful and quiet distributed energy solutions. The result is a turbine that produces nearly 15 times more power than equivalent-sized traditional turbines. Our introductory technology is the 50kW urban wind turbine. The technology behind this can be upscaled to 500kW or more, which may well be needed in the future as Distributed Renewable Energy becomes more widespread. Additionally, Windfire is actively partnering with a range of complementary technology providers to achieve holistic, turnkey solutions that are adaptable and can stand the test of time.
