Hydrogenera is powering German industry with a 2-MW green hydrogen project.

Through Hydro Future GmbH, our German integration partner, we have signed a contract with LE Power GmbH to deliver a full-scale hydrogen production system built on our Z-series alkaline electrolyser platform.

The system will be manufactured in Bulgaria and installed and commissioned in Ukraine, producing hydrogen at 99.999 per cent purity for direct supply to industrial offtakers in Germany.

The project is financed by a German government grant. This is not a pilot. It is a contracted, funded infrastructure supporting decarbonisation across German manufacturing and heavy industry.

Our scope covers the full system: stacks and balance of plant, power and electrical systems, factory and site acceptance tests, commissioning, and initial service support.

On-site engineering, procurement and construction will be coordinated by the project integrator and local partners.

Commissioning is scheduled for June 2027.

Cross-border hydrogen value chains are becoming real. This project connects Bulgarian manufacturing, Ukrainian infrastructure and German industrial demand into a single, structured supply chain.

Hydrogenera разширява европейското си портфолио с 2 MW проект, подкрепен с грантово финансиране от гер

Hydrogenera ще проектира, произведе и достави водородна система с мощност 2 MW за производство на зелен водород, предназначен за индустриалните потребители в Германия.

Проектът се финансира с грант от германското правителство, което утвърждава компанията като надежден партньор в развитието на стратегическа водородна инфраструктура в Европа.

В сътрудничество с Hydro Future GmbH и LE Power GmbH, Hydrogenera ще достави и интегрира водородна система от серията Z, проектирана да произвежда водород с чистота 99.999%, с планирано въвеждане в експлоатация през юни 2027 г.

Този проект е още едно доказателство, че трансграничните доставки на водород вече работят на практика – свързвайки производство, инфраструктура и индустриално потребление в Европа.

Hydrogenera closes 2025 with strong growth and improved profitability.

After a period of investment and capacity building, 2025 marks a clear shift.

Operational progress is now reflected in financial results.

Key highlights:

• Revenue: BGN 8.615 million (EUR 4.405 million), +19% year-on-year
• EBITDA: BGN 2.015 million (EUR 1.030 million), +87% year-on-year
• Net profit: BGN 1.514 million ((EUR 0.774 million), +103% year-on-year

Profitability also improved:

• EBITDA margin: 23.39% (14.81% in 2024)
• Net profit margin: 17.57% (10.26% in 2024)

This growth is driven by strong project activity and more efficient use of production and organisational capacity.

2025 was also an important year operationally:

• Successful IPO on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange
• Membership in Hydrogen Europe
• Grant agreement with the EBRD under InvestEU
• Project with Volkswagen Poznań
• Contract with Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK)

Hydrogenera continues to invest in R&D, focusing on improving efficiency and expanding industrial applications of hydrogen technologies, including metal hydride compression and storage.

The results set a solid foundation for further growth, supported by a stronger project portfolio and increasing presence in the European hydrogen ecosystem.

🏅 We just won a Gold Medal at ENERGY ON Summit & H2POLAND 2026.

In the current hydrogen market, many solutions are "integrations"—systems assembled from third-party components sourced globally and branded for the local market. While this model works for some, it creates a gap in technical accountability and long-term reliability.

Hydrogenera took part in Smart Energy Week Tokyo 2026 and the EU Business Hub programme.

The most valuable outcome of the visit was the quality of the connections established. Through the EU Business Hub, the team met Japanese partners with a clear interest in hydrogen technologies and real business cooperation.

For Hydrogenera, this is particularly important. Japan is one of the most advanced markets in hydrogen adoption, with strong focus on industrial applications and long-term deployment.

What stood out during the meetings was how quickly discussions moved beyond introductions. Conversations focused on concrete opportunities, including potential applications of Hydrogenera’s electrolyser solutions in industrial environments.

The EU Business Hub played a key role in this process. The programme provided structured meetings, strong institutional support, and an efficient framework that enabled meaningful dialogue in a short period of time.

This approach reduces the barriers to entering new markets and creates a clear path towards collaboration.

The result is not just networking, but real business dialogue with strong future potential.

Is green hydrogen really too expensive? Or is the real cost exposure somewhere else?

In recent years, many industrial companies delayed hydrogen adoption, expecting prices to decline. However, the economic landscape has shifted.

The question is no longer only: “What does green hydrogen cost per kilogram?”
The more relevant question is: “What is the cost of continued fossil fuel exposure?”

The 2026 reality

Carbon pricing is no longer theoretical. EU ETS costs are materially affecting industrial balance sheets and must be factored into long-term planning.

Regulatory pressure is increasing. Mechanisms such as CBAM are becoming structural components of cross-border trade, not future policy discussions.

Energy price volatility remains a risk. Fossil fuel costs are exposed to global supply dynamics, while on-site hydrogen production shifts part of that exposure to electricity, which can be contracted and stabilised.

The decision is not purely technical. It is financial.

🏅 Hydrogenera E-Series receives the Golden Medal at H2POLAND 2026

Hydrogenera’s E-Series 500 kW system has been awarded the Golden Medal of Grupa MTP at the ENERGY ON Summit and H2POLAND 2026.

The project has now entered the second stage of the competition. The Golden Medal Consumer Choice 2026 award is decided through public voting.

🚛 On the way to Volkswagen Poznań

A new hydrogen system from Hydrogenera is now on its way to the Volkswagen Poznań plant.

The system includes a 90 kW electrolyser installed in a dedicated container, along with auxiliary equipment.

The project demonstrates a practical way to integrate hydrogen into existing industrial processes.

For facilities where heat and combustion are central to production, hydrogen systems can support:

• Improved fuel efficiency
• Reduced emissions
• Optimisation of existing industrial equipment

Volkswagen Poznań is one of the largest automotive manufacturing centres in Europe, producing models such as the VW Caddy and VW Crafter. Projects like this show how hydrogen technologies can be integrated into modern industrial production.
