Post-doc fellowship in Bioinformatics

The Department of Genetics and Animal Reproduction at the Servicio Regional de Investigación y Desarrollo Agroalimentario (SERIDA) in Spain is actively seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct research on bioinformatics and synthetic biology projects, primarily focused in the area of early embryo-maternal communication and embryo development.

The position for senior/young researchers will be competitive as to be funded under the Ramón y Cajal /Juan de la Cierva programs* (2017 call). These are 5-year/2 year contracts externally selected. Interested researchers are welcome to contact the Department: E. Gómez: [email protected]

Using in vitro fertilization to ensure exclusive inheritance via the gametes, the Authors show that a parental high-fat diet renders offspring more susceptible to developing obesity and diabetes in a s*x- and parent of origin–specific mode. The epigenetic inheritance of acquired metabolic disorders may contribute to the current obesity and diabetes pandemic.
