Our 2023 Annual Report is now available!

Over the past year, we have made substantial progress towards our ESG goals, with initiatives in social and environmental areas, decarbonization projects, promoting diversity, and addressing climate change.

Nexa is part of the National Economic Development Bank's (BNDES) first credit initiative related to ESG standards in the mining industry.

The R$200 million financing was provided through the "BNDES ESG Credit" program, an encouragement to implement sustainable practices, strengthening our commitment to our ESG goals and strategies.

We are focused on achieving the gold seal of the "Brazilian Greenhouse Gas Protocol Program" (GHG Protocol), a recognition of our efforts to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, we are committed to developing a social and environmental responsibility policy focused on education and diversity.

The funding is an incentive and recognition of our sustainable initiatives and practices. We celebrate the support and always emphasize our transparency and determination with concrete actions in our ESG strategies.

Since 2022, we have made commitments to the environment and society guided by the ESG pillars and solid, mature governance.

Among our targets by 2030 is a 10% reduction in specific water consumption in the mining and metallurgy units, as well as an absolute reduction of scope 1 emissions by 20%, while maintaining Nexa's electricity matrix composed almost entirely of renewable sources.

In pursuit of an increasingly diverse mining industry, we are also aiming for 30% women in the workforce and 30% women in leadership positions by the same year.

In the communities where we operate, we are guided by building a positive and transparent legacy, with projects that foster the economy and development of the municipalities.

Nexa's 2023 results are now available!

Over the last year, we have taken big steps towards our ESG goals: we received a new rating from the CPD (Carbon Disclosure Project), from C to B; we advanced the dry waste disposal system at the Três Marias (MG) smelter; and we were recognized as “Company of the Year - Mining Sector 2023” by Brasil Mineral magazine.

As for financial results, we achieved an adjusted EBITDA of US$391 million and consolidated net revenue of US$2.573 million, numbers impacted by metal prices on the LME (London Metal Exchange).

Furthermore, driven by the advancement of operations at the Aripuanã mine (MT), zinc production increased by 12% compared to 2022, reaching 333 thousand tons in 2023.

Despite the challenging scenario, we closed the year achieving guidance with strong financial and operational discipline. In 2024, we will continue to focus on our priorities, always seeking to build mining that changes with the world.

To believe in a more equal, plural, sustainable future with fair opportunities for all is to invest in the present. This month, we're celebrating International Education Day looking back at three initiatives that are helping to build a positive legacy for education in Brazil.

Embracing more than 15 cities across the country, we have the Partnership for the Valorization of Education (PVE), an initiative to mobilize Votorantim's social capital. In Aripuanã (MT), we had a Professional Qualification Program in partnership with Senai - MT back in 2019. As for Juiz de Fora (MG), we highlight the Community Reading Houses, located in the northern part of the city.

Nexa's third quarter results are now available!

During the period, our production reached 87 thousand tons of zinc produced, an increase of 8% compared to 2Q23. Regarding financial performance, our net revenue totaled US$649 million, an increase of 4% compared to the second quarter of 2023, while adjusted EBITDA reached US$82 million.

In Peru, we advanced with technical studies for the integration of the El Porvenir and Atacocha mines, in Pasco. In Brazil, we updated production estimates for Aripuanã (MT), which continues to ramp up.

The results for the second quarter of 2023 are now available! During the period, we achieved an adjusted net revenue of US$ 627 million and a EBITDA of US$ 72 million.

Metals production grew compared to the first quarter of the year: we reached 81 thousand tons of zinc, an increase of 8%. The highlight also goes to copper production, which, with a growth of 42% compared to 1Q23, reached 9 thousand tons.

In line with our commitment to advance our ESG strategies, we have registered our carbon emissions on "LMEpassport", the London Metal Exchange (LME) platform that promotes sustainability and transparency in the base metals sector. With one of the lowest carbon footprints recorded in zinc production, Nexa is a global leader in carbon reduction in the zinc industry.

The mineral is essential for athletes to maintain their good performance during games. Zinc has been associated with improved muscular endurance and assists in speeding up metabolism, contributing mainly to intense aerobic activities, such as running after the ball to make the perfect pass.
