81% of OT assessments performed in 2025 failed the most basic criterion of industrial security: segmentation between corporate network and shop floor.

The number is from the Dragos 2026 OT/ICS Year in Review, based on 100+ in-depth assessments of industrial plants worldwide.

It gets worse. 46% of the OT operations assessed have no adequate monitoring of their own environment. 73% of the incidents Dragos responded to started through VPN or a compromised jumphost.

The number comes from BICSI, echoed in Fluke Corporation studies. It is not new. The industry knows it and ignores it.

General Motors reported 15% less downtime and USD 20 million per year in savings monitoring assembly line robots.

There is a new number on the LinkedIn of Darwin Anastacio Junior, founder of Solaris, that deserves to travel beyond the technical circle: over 90% of ground loops, one of the electrical problems that most disrupt industrial networks, are invisible to visual inspection.
