Behind SEPOC is a history of research, innovation, and collaboration.

Founded in 1987 by professors José Renes Pinheiro, Humberto Pinheiro, Hélio Hey and Hilton Abílio Gründling, the Power Electronics and Control Research Group (GEPOC) brings together professors, researchers, and students dedicated to advancing technologies in areas such as power electronics, control systems, and renewable energy.

Over the years, GEPOC has become one of Brazil’s most established research groups in its field — creating an environment where research can become technology, knowledge, and real-world impact.

And this commitment to bringing people and ideas together led to the creation of SEPOC — the Seminar on Power Electronics and Control.

What started from a research group has grown into a space for researchers, students, professionals, and industry to connect, exchange knowledge, and discuss the technologies shaping the future of energy.

Now, that story continues.

Meet our speaker: Bruno Mota Puls da Silveira 🎤🔋

We are pleased to welcome Bruno Mota Puls da Silveira, Electronic Engineer from the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) and CAE Application Specialist at ESSS.

With over three years of experience in engineering projects and a background in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) research through EMBRAPII, Bruno brings solid expertise in Electromagnetism, with a focus on EMI/EMC simulation and analysis, antennas, electrical machines, and transformers. ⚙️

His experience connecting engineering development with computational simulation makes his contribution to SEPOC 2026 especially relevant to discussions on the technologies shaping the future of electrical and energy systems.

⚡ Meet another confirmed speaker of SEPOC 2026!

We are pleased to welcome Prof. Telles Brunelli Lazzarin from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).

Prof. Lazzarin is an Associate Professor at UFSC and a researcher at the Institute of Power Electronics (INEP), with extensive experience in Power Electronics, energy conversion systems, high-gain DC-DC converters, switched-capacitor and hybrid converters, WBG semiconductors, and renewable energy applications.

He is a CNPq Productivity Researcher, IEEE Senior Member, and Coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology in Power Electronics (INCT-EPTech). His international experience includes research stays at Northeastern University (USA) and CentraleSupélec (France).

He also served as President of the Brazilian Power Electronics Society (SOBRAEP) from 2023 to 2025 and is currently an Associate Editor of the IEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics (OJ-PEL).
