Guangzhou Infinitus Plaza Zaha Hadid Architects

Guangzhou Infinitus Plaza is located in Baiyun New Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It was designed by the world's top and famous architect, who is known as the "Queen of curves"--- Zaha Hadid.

Infinitus Plaza connects the two areas in the form of a series of "infinite rings", like "∞", it surrounds the central garden to form an open communication area and introduces lots of natural light into the interior, which is good for the environment, energy-saving and close to nature.

Steven Holl’s Luminous Kinder Building at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Although Texas gets more attention for its big, bright stars, the state’s vast blue skies and dynamic clouds are what inspired Steven Holl’s latest project, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH). Home to the only Mies van der Rohe museum in the U.S., as well as a gallery building by Pritzker Prize–winner Rafael Moneo, the institution’s Susan and Fayez S. Sarofim Campus is at long last complete, with the opening of the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building on November 21.

Clad in a vertical array of translucent glass tubes and topped by a complex clerestory roof that brings in diffuse daylight throughout the interior, the nearly 240,000-square-foot structure consolidates the MFAH’s impressive—and growing—permanent collection of modern and contemporary art.

The MFAH’s campus is at long last complete, with the opening of the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building.

FOR THE RECORD ~ In 1986, my companies, M.A.Pratt & Associates (architects-planners) Gamma Construction (construction) Freeport, The Bahamas, used a Canam steel superstructure in conjunction with the Hambro D500 joist system (floor and roof) on this design-build commercial / automotive centre (pictured).

Villa Courbe / SAOTA Architects - Curated by Hana Abdel - Text description provided by the architects. Just as its alpine setting has been formed by many forces over time, Villa Courbe is a residence shaped intuitively and alliteratively by many hands – from sun and topography to brief and local zoning regulations.

Seen from the water, the house appears almost at one with the wooded hills that rise gently out of the lake and, at the same time, very different to the traditional suburbia that surrounds it. The need to respond to the topography that came before drives the design to contrast with the neighbouring houses that appeared only after the glaciers and ice had done their work.
