Puma Energy, Botswana Oil Limited (BOL) and Vivo Energy recently conducted a joint emergency preparedness drill in Gaborone, working alongside key first responders and emergency services, including the Botswana Police Service and fire and rescue services.
The planned and controlled exercise formed part of our emergency preparedness activities and supports regulatory requirements. With interconnected fuel depot operations, effective coordination between companies and emergency services is essential to ensuring a strong and timely response should a real emergency occur.
The drill tested emergency response procedures, communication and coordination across the participating organisations, while helping to identify opportunities to further strengthen our preparedness and response capabilities.
For Puma Energy, safety remains our highest priority. Regular exercises such as these help us ensure we are prepared to protect our people, assets, the environment and surrounding communities.
