We are pleased to welcome Botho Motlholatung as one of our distinguished speakers. Botho will join the panel discussion, “From Campus to Industry – BIUST Alumni Leading in Tech,” sharing insights on energy innovation, climate resilience, and women’s leadership in sustainable development.
About the Speaker
Botho Motlholatung is the Founder of Motlhola Energy, an emerging energy services company delivering commercial energy management solutions and residential solar installations in Botswana. She holds a BEng in Mechanical and Energy Engineering from Botswana International University of Science & Technology - BIUST , an MBA in Energy Management from the University of East London, and advanced project management training.
Botho is an alumna of several prestigious leadership and entrepreneurship programmes, including the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, the African Women in Energy Development Initiative, the Enhancing Women Entrepreneurship in Africa – Investment Readiness Program, and the Fintech & Access Bank Investor Readiness Program.
Her journey began during the COVID-19 era, when a volunteer energy audit evolved into a Youth Development Fund–supported engineering practice. Today, Botho is driven by a commitment to climate resilience, sustainable development, and widening opportunities for women in the energy sector.
