Botswana continues to strengthen its position as a premier luxury tourism destination, with eight of its tourism properties featured in the Tatler Best Africa 2026 β Best 100 Hotels selection.
The awards gala was held on 8 October 2026 at the JW Marriott Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by Tatler Africa in partnership with Magical Kenya. The event brought together hoteliers, industry professionals and guests from across the world to celebrate excellence in African hospitality.
The recognition follows an assessment process involving more than 95 industry professionals, alongside Tatler Africaβs contributors and editors. The panel evaluated properties based on their industry knowledge and direct experience of the hotels, with the selection spanning 21 countries across the continent.
The selection features eight Botswana properties: Belmond Eagle Island, Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge, Jackβs Camp, Jao Camp, Mombo Camp, Natural Selection Tawana, Sitatunga Private Island and Xigera Safari Lodge.
Their inclusion celebrates the countryβs outstanding hospitality, distinctive safari experiences and commitment to delivering memorable encounters with nature. This recognition further reinforces Botswanaβs standing as a destination of choice for travellers seeking exclusive, authentic and responsible luxury experiences, while highlighting the contribution of local tourism operators to the growth and global competitiveness of the sector.
Congratulations to all eight Botswana properties on this prestigious recognition! Your achievement places Destination Botswana firmly among Africaβs finest hospitality offerings and demonstrates the value of continued investment in quality, innovation and sustainable tourism.
