Cuhune Limited is spearheading the establishment of a national Cohune Industry. Cabinet has approved a Technical Working Group comprised of technical staff from nine (9) key Ministries and other key stakeholders that has been launched to develop the regulatory framework and legislation to facilitate the establishment of a National Cohune Industry. The Government of Belize recognizes that the Cohune Industry has the potential to become Belize's most significant and Climate resilient Agro-industry.

Our project has been selected as a top priority project in Belize's national Green Climate Fund (GCF) Pipeline. Cohune is a "once in a generation" opportunity that delivers cross-cutting solutions (both mitigation and adaption) for several of Belize's sustainable development Goals (SDGs) - through the conservation of thousands of acres of Rainforest across Belize, the empowerment of multiple rural communities countrywide through: baseload electricity, multiple revenue streams including: revenues from value-added skin, cosmetics and edible products, Biochar (soil enhancement and high value carbon credits), and a wide variety of jobs.
