Powering Progress in La Gracia Village for Over 9 Years 🌞

At Solar Energy Solutions Belize Ltd. (SESB), we are proud to see the SMA Off-Grid Solar System serving La Gracia Village in Cayo continue to provide reliable, clean energy more than nine years after commissioning.
Today, the system supplies electricity to over 50 households, 2 village shops, several churches, the primary school, and even the lights at the football field, helping to improve education, business opportunities, community activities, and overall quality of life.
Over the past seven years, the village's energy consumption has more than doubled as families and businesses have grown and gained access to additional electrical appliances and services. Thanks to the vision and ongoing support of the CDW Foundation, the collaboration of the Government of Belize and Belize Electricity Limited (BEL), and the commitment of the local community, the system has continued to perform exceptionally well.
The photos below were taken during one of our recent preventive maintenance visits, where our SESB technicians inspected the installation and serviced the equipment. You will also see some of the solar PV extensions that have been added over the years on the various power towers to support the village's increasing energy demand.
Projects like La Gracia demonstrate how renewable energy can create lasting positive change for rural communities while providing reliable and sustainable electricity for generations to come.
A sincere thank you to cdw Stiftung , the Government of Belize, BEL, and the residents of La Gracia Village for their trust and partnership throughout this journey.

With the cost of fuel rising, today's sunny weather is a perfect reminder of how valuable it is to utilize solar energy—especially when you have the storage capacity to match your energy demands.

Thanks to this new battery extension, this system hasn't needed the generator to handle those extra nighttime loads. Thank you once again Calico Jacks Village Resort for your continued trust in our team.
