Summer Is Here!
Summer is finally here and we can help you make the most of it by enjoying the extra light and warmth, but keeping the extremes out of your greenhouse. Your crops love the light, but too much heat, poor airflow, or missed maintenance can wipe out a full cycle fast. Just like your car, home and household appliances, regular check-ups and care for your greenhouse is key!
If you’re already on top of these steps, great! Here are three steps you can take to keep your greenhouse in tip top shade this summer:
1 Shade cloth is your friend.
Install it early! don’t wait until signs show. We provide and size shade cloths to reduce direct sunlight and harmful UV rays while still letting in enough diffused light for hearty plant growth. The key is balance. You’re not blocking light, you’re controlling intensity.
2 Your fans work hard. Clean them.
This time of year, your fans are doing the heavy lifting—pulling hot air out and keeping airflow consistent. Dirty blades, blocked louvers, or a worn controller can cut performance by half. Schedule cleanings, check wiring. Don’t let a burnt-out fan be the reason your crop fails.
3 Fogging systems aren’t set-it-and-forget-it.
They need clean water, proper pressure, and maintenance. Fog nozzles can clog. Pumps need periodic checks. If your fog system isn’t atomizing properly, you’re not cooling, you’re just adding humidity.
