Despite this week’s weather, our crews made great strides both inside and out. We completed the ground-level stonework and continued with spray foam, strapping and window installation whenever the weather cooperated on the exterior.

Inside, we made progress on the third-floor layout, framed our fire-rated walls and installed suite entry door frames, with plumbing, electrical and fire suppression rough-ins following close behind.

Looking ahead, we’re preparing to set our Level 4 CFS walls next week, followed by the Level 5 hollow-core slabs before the end of the month. Lots to look forward to as we continue bringing this project together!

A big thank you to all of our trades and crews for their hard work, dedication, and continued progress, rain or shine. We’re fortunate to work with such a great group of people!

🏡 LIVE-IN PROPERTY CARETAKER OPPORTUNITY | PEMBROKE, ON

We are looking for a responsible individual or couple, preferably retired, to live in a brand-new 2-bedroom apartment within a newly constructed 8-unit property in Pembroke.

📍 Location: Behind the East Pembroke Mall / Home Depot, near Fellowes High School.

The unit is brand new and includes full stainless-steel appliances, in-suite laundry, and all the benefits of a modern new build.

We are looking for someone who has experience with property maintenance, building maintenance, property management, or general service work, and who would enjoy living on-site while helping look after the property.

Responsibilities would include:
- Weekly/monthly/annual inspections
- Common area cleaning
- Lawn and garden maintenance
- Eavestrough and exterior window cleaning
- Driveway and laneway snow removal, including shovelling
- General maintenance and service calls for the other 7 units
- Being an emergency contact for the property
- Showing available units to prospective tenants
- Helping coordinate or address minor maintenance issues
- Other reasonable property-related duties as required

💰 Compensation

Compensation will depend on the individual's experience, availability, and workload.

For the right person, the compensation could be equivalent to free rent/living expenses in the 2-bedroom unit.

There is also an opportunity for someone interested in taking on additional responsibilities for another 8–24 units, which would provide additional income.

👤 Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate would be a retired person or couple who:

- Takes pride in maintaining a property
- Has previous maintenance, property management, trades, landscaping, or service experience
- Is reliable and comfortable dealing with tenants
- Is reasonably handy and capable of handling minor repairs
- Enjoys being part of a community
- Wants to significantly reduce or potentially eliminate their monthly housing costs

This could be an excellent opportunity for someone who is retired, semi-retired, or simply looking for a low-cost place to live in exchange for meaningful part-time property responsibilities.

Another big week in Arnprior!

Even with a short week, we made some serious progress on site. Late last week, we placed and grouted our second-floor hollowcore slab, allowing us to begin erecting the second-floor cold-formed steel demising and exterior walls. We also got all of our ground-floor windows blocked, installed, membraned, and protected, with spray foam starting today.

We’re excited to have both our drywall framing crew and mason mobilizing Monday. By the end of next week, we expect to have the third floor, additional windows, spray foam, stonework, and interior framing all well underway.

We’re especially excited about this build as it represents the third and final stage of our Sawmill Flats project, with completion and occupancy planned for fall 2027.

We have been hard at work maintaining schedule at our Sawmill Flats project in Arnprior.

After battling through a cold and harsh winter completing the rock demolition and excavation, we officially began the foundation on February 17. This past Friday, our concrete contractor, Jamieson McKay and their crew out of Beachburg, completed their final concrete pour, stripped the walls, and wrapped up their scope on site.

What an outstanding group of guys to work with. The quality of their workmanship was second to none, and it was a pleasure having them on the project.

Over the last four weeks, our crews have pushed hard to complete all below-grade interior parkade conduit, piping, vapour barrier installation, and wire mesh preparation. Through a strong team effort, we maintained schedule and successfully completed both slab pours last week, giving us a fully finished below grade indoor parking structure.

Over the next three weeks, our focus shifts to completing all civil site service connections at the public roadway and bringing them into the building and property. This includes water, sanitary, and storm services. Once completed, we will be able to fully backfill the property and move confidently into the next phase of construction.

We are currently scheduled to begin erecting the five-storey apartment structure on June 15.

Lots of work ahead — but we’re excited to keep pushing forward.

Another strong week in Arnprior pushing ahead on Phase 3 of 💪

The crew battled through some tough weather and a two-week engineering delay around the elevator shaft—but stayed locked in. With persistence and solid coordination, we pushed through and kept things moving.

Big milestone late Friday: the formwork crew stood the 18-foot elevator shaft walls, ready for rebar first thing Monday 👊

Last week also saw rock anchors completed, significant progress on waterproofing, and backfilling both inside and outside the parkade. We’ve now started prep for the Riverside retaining wall and knocked out a 110m vertical wall pour on Thursday.

The team is working hard, staying motivated, and ready to roll into another big week.
