Construction season is officially underway in Ottawa!

Yesterday, we joined Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, Councillor Steve Desroches, Carina Duclos, Director of Infrastructure Services, and City partners for the 2026 Construction Season Kickoff and the relaunch of the “Respect. Patience. Safety for All.” campaign.

Another busy season of building is ahead across the city. We also received an update on the Bank Street widening and reconstruction project, an important investment that will improve how people move through the corridor for years to come.

At Cavanagh, we know construction season means long days, busy roads and a lot of people working hard behind the scenes to keep projects moving. As work ramps up across Ottawa, we’re reminding everyone to slow down in work zones, stay alert and help keep workers and the public safe all season long.

This Earth Day, we’re choosing to go beyond the standard. Enough for you.
At our Carp road concrete plant, we’ve brought in technology that isn’t required in our industry but we wanted to go above and beyond.
Captured waste CO₂ is brought to site, stored, and injected directly into our concrete during production. Once it hardens, that carbon is permanently encapsulated within the concrete.
It’s one of the ways we’re working to reduce our impact and push concrete production forward here in Ontario. CarbonCure is just one part of the bigger picture.
