Exciting progress is taking shape on the Tingirrautaq Wind Energy Project in Quaqtaq!

This construction season has been incredibly productive. The road improvement work is progressing at a steady pace, providing better access for the crews and equipment while laying the foundation for the transport work that will follow next summer. We are also pleased to see the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) pad taking shape, a dedicated area that will eventually host three key structures: the Office/Warehouse, a Transit House, and the Substation. The Office/Warehouse is already under construction and coming together.

We are equally thrilled to share that the turbine foundation is taking shape. The pile drilling went smoothly, and the team of one of our contractors is now hard at work on the pile head welding, a critical step in building a strong, lasting base for the future Tingirrautaq turbine.

It is an exciting time at Tarquti, and we are so pleased with the progress being made in Quaqtaq. Every milestone brings us one step closer to reducing our reliance on diesel and building a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for Nunavik.

As part of the upcoming commissioning of its wind farm in Quaqtaq, TARQUTI is looking to recruit and train two (2) Wind Turbine Technicians – Level 1 into its field operations team. Last Thursday marked a significant moment for the Tingirrautaq wind farm project. We are proud to announce the official signing of partnership agreements between Tarquti, the Tuvaaluk Landholding Corporation, and the local Quaqtaq Co-op.

While our organizations have collaborated closely since the initial MOU, these documents officially formalize community’s shared ownership in the project and establish the Tingirrautaq Board of Directors.

Civil work is scheduled to kick off this summer, a huge step that brings the project to life and prepares the site for the turbine to be erected in the summer of 2027.

We are honored to move forward in true partnership as we work toward a sustainable energy future for Quaqtaq and Nunavik.

Jeudi dernier a marqué un tournant important pour le projet de parc éolien Tingirrautaq. Nous sommes fiers d'annoncer la signature officielle d’accords de partenariat entre Tarquti, la Corporation foncière Tuvaaluk et la coopérative locale de Quaqtaq.

Bien que nos organismes collaborent étroitement depuis le protocole d’entente initial, ces documents officialisent la participation de la communauté dans l’équité du projet et établissent le conseil d’administration de Tingirrautaq.

Les travaux de génie civil devraient débuter cet été, une étape importante qui donne vie au projet et prépare le site pour l’installation de l’éolienne à l’été 2027.

Nous sommes honorés d’aller de l’avant avec ce projet en vrai partenariat afin de bâtir un avenir énergétique durable pour Quaqtaq et le Nunavik.
