Last Thursday marked a significant moment for the Tingirrautaq wind farm project. We are proud to announce the official signing of partnership agreements between Tarquti, the Tuvaaluk Landholding Corporation, and the local Quaqtaq Co-op.

While our organizations have collaborated closely since the initial MOU, these documents officially formalize community’s shared ownership in the project and establish the Tingirrautaq Board of Directors.

Civil work is scheduled to kick off this summer, a huge step that brings the project to life and prepares the site for the turbine to be erected in the summer of 2027.

We are honored to move forward in true partnership as we work toward a sustainable energy future for Quaqtaq and Nunavik.

Earlier this fall, delegates from Puvirnituq and Quaqtaq travelled to the Gaspé region to see wind energy in action and to learn more about the technologies and projects coming to their communities.

This was the second edition of Tarquti’s Renewable Energy Exploration Tour, an initiative designed to build awareness and understanding among Nunavimmiut as we move toward green energy projects in the region.
